Hello world Sorry, I have been out of commission for a while but life and health problems got in the way. In my opinion, there should be two ways to put down the animals at the pound. One is by a vet for the humane "putting to sleep" on an animal. The other is the gas chamber for aggressive animals. I do not wish to see a person get injured, and I hate the idea of the gas chamber but some animals are too dangerous to get close to. A good, trustworthy shelter manager an use his discression as to which method is needed. That's my two cents thanks
Sandy Lewis Posts Gee, why are these posts edited, if I didn't edit them. Seems like a little plan to discredit my willingness to hear out all sides and all people. Please note that in the post it states whom it was edited by. FYI - at least I think that is the way it works...
Peppercorn, The aggressive animals can be sedated, and this can be easily done with a syringe with a long handle. Really, all of the animals should be sedated before being euthanized. The vicious animals have to be handled either way. And if it were left up to the discretion of the employees, they may continue to gas them all. I don't believe anyone who cares would be able to monitor that.
OK, that's not the technical term, but that is the way it is done. You don't have to touch the animal; it simply falls to sleep.
Peppercorn, this board is ran by Dave Lippard, you know the webmaster. I would think it was adoptadog because of all of the posts about the animals!
If any of you realy want to help this email Habitat4Niko@yahoo.com Then we can give you as much info as we have. Thank you all.
I just had something that I thought was very kind and compassionate happen at school yesterday and wanted to share. I wasn't sure where to post, but I figured since it was about animals I should post it here of get blasted! A student came into my room during snack time yesterday and told me that he had been sent to me by another teacher because "I care about animals". He pulled a folded and worn piece of paper out of his pocket and asked me if I would sign his petition. I asked him if I could have a look at it. On the top of the page it said, "Stop hurting animals". I asked him to explain what made him decide to start this petition. I won't go into all the details here, but basically he told me they had problems in their neighborhood with people being mean to animals and he wanted to do something about it. His plan is to show his petition to the "people at animal control". That's what he said. I added my signature to the petition and thanked him for being involved in his community and taking a stand on things that he felt strongly about. The point of sharing this is to commend our young people who want to make a difference in the world and are "doing" rather than sitting by and fussing about things. This truly said a lot about this young man's character, especially since he is only in the 5th grade.
This has got to be the crziest dumbest thing I have ever read. Some people should just not have PETS!!!
What's so curious is not the fact that this post is older than dirt, but rather these posts were buried by the first webbie. IF you look at Dog/Cat you will see only two pages can be retrieved. So, guess this is a TROLL ALERT Started by someone who was so famous for saving URL's. DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!
