No one said you would go to he**, HG. That was a prime example of "reading into it" and thinking a Christian is condemning you. JCG said that SHE did not read the thread baout beer because SHE was not interested. I get so tired of people saying that Christians are always downing and condemning and forcing things on others. If you feel that way, that is YOUR issue because YOU decided to take it that way. Not the poster's. Unless someone comes out and says "You are going to he**" if your drink or smoke, don't insinuate or assume that is what they mean. That is where I think some people get their panties or boxers or briefs in a WAD become so so mortified over what they "think" someone meant.

Boy this really, really, really needs a clapping hands smiley. But I will say that was just a mite brutal. Just try to remember that we as Christians are suppose to be Christ like. Thanks

    Don't worry HG

    Sounds like I missed a thread - been away for a while.:-D
No worries HG, you can't go the H*** for drinking beer (or any other drink) any more then your overweight friends and/or neighbors can go to H*** for overeating. This is a subject which many Christians take out of context and choose to "judge" others about. The bible does have much to say about being a "glutton" and a "drunkard" (It says that God tells us to be neither). But there is no more sin in having a beer or a glass of wine or a drink than there is in eating a well balanced meal for lunch.

Don't let "Christians" (yes, I am a Christian too,), or anyone else, tell you what THEY interpret the Bible to say about what YOU are doing. Tell them to go look up some scriptures on judging and gossiping and then...go look up what you want to know for yourself (if you want to:mrgreen:).

p.s. I don't smoke and the smoke from Ciggs makes me sick (literally). But am I gonna tell you that you are gonna go to H*** because you do smoke, NO. I would not tell you that even if it were true (which it is NOT). There is only one thing that leads to H***. I'm not gonna preach it (unless asked to), but those Christians who want to focus on all the silly stuff others do which they think is "bad" and "sinful" are sadly losing perspective on what Christianity is in my opinion.

I know......I'm sorry. I just get upset at this thing. I get just as upset as those who feel like Christianity is forced on them. I apologize if it sounded bad and to HG if I made her mad. But sometimes ya just gotta let it out............

It is so amazing to me how things keep getting put in my Christian mouth, That I have not said.
And to put the matter straight. the Body of Christians, is the temple.
Therefore any thing we do to harm that body is a sin. And as I have stated before, I don't know a Christian that is without sin.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

So you see we are not perfect. We are just forgiven.

I do see your point blessed. It can be frustrating to have people assume that you mean one thing when you really mean something so different. I think much of it comes down to perspective. You have to work very hard to have a productive conversation when you and the person you are conversing with are coming from two totally different perspectives. I think that sometimes we tend to be on guard simply because we do not understand where the other person is coming from and that makes one feel a little insecure.

Dont worry HG. I am driving an air conditioned bus to hell. Wanna ride. Looks like a glutton from the av. JCG can ride with us to.

No one even comes close to being "Christ like" JCG, not even you.

Let those who have not sinned cast the first stone. Hummm, I am not getting hit with any yet. Forgiven or not.

Religon shouldnt be talked about, in my opinion, in or on a website. Everyone has their own beliefs and noone will ever ever shake hands on it. So, no seed planted here but thanks for shoving the spoon I just spit out in my throat.

I believe, what I want. As far as clicking on this thread, ummmm, I have no explanation. I read whatever is on top in the morning.

Amen T4T, sharing Jesus is like sharing a sandwich. You offer one a bite - you do not cram it down their throat.

You know Cleo, there have been people come to this site and "preach" and they are accepted. The way JCG does it, not gonna work. The "know it all attitude" is what is a turn off.

Like this comment she made..."Kent since one would really have to read this passage and understand. some might not know what you are saying here. I understand completely where you are comming from."

WOW. I am to stupid to understand but she is so smart.

No one ever agrees and the internet isnt the place for her to try and get people to agree with everything she says.

People believ what they want to and you cant change that. Why come here with the attitude that your way of believing is the only way.

I believe that daily devotionals are between you and God only. It is a reading that makes you take time out of your day to reflect on God. Not posting on the internet for everyone to have to read. She is posting them to make herself feel better. Take your devotional and do what you are supposed to with it. Dont need to be a show off.

It is one on one time. See, that is my opinion and that is why she wont understand what I am saying...

Rick Stanley, Elvis Presley's step-brother, shared a story awhile back when he was at a sister church up my way.

He grew up with everything money and Elvis could buy for him. He had it all - sex, drugs, rock and roll!

Or at least he thought he did.

But, yet he was missing something in his life. There was a huge void that none of the trappings of being Elvis' brother could meet.

One girl, Robyn, witnessed to him. She asked him to go to church with her. He refused.

    She continued to ask him.

Finally, Rick relented and went with her to church.

He gave his heart to Christ and has never been the same.

Rick and Robyn have now been married for over 26 years.

If you ever get a chance to hear Rick, please do so.

If it is or was your intention to "witness" to others here, posting this statement to your friend, Blessed in this thread can only be counter productive to your efforts.

Yes, I know what you are trying to say. But, do you know what others are hearing? More than likely, you just turned them off to anything further you will ever have to say about Christ here. Why? Because you may as well have said.....Oh, thank you God for not letting me be as that lowly man over there (does THAT ring a scripture bell with you???)

Yes, I know a thing or two about my Bible and the end times too. But I don't think I need to go acting like I am "all that" and others are idiots because of it. I don't know you and I'm not trying to pick a fight with you. But, it is not your JOB as a Christian to try and talk down to those who do not believe as you do. That is not in the "Great Commission" as I have read it.

If you and Blessed want to have an in depth conversation about how all the "lost" folks on here who don't see things your way are just too stupid to hear the truth...them PM each other. Don't slam people on here. All you do is make people think that ALL Christians are just a bunch of judgemental, holier than thou snobs. And I, personally take offense to you helping to paint that false picture of me as a Christian.

I am a Christian and I'd like to apologize for what JCG said in this post. I think her heart is "somewhat" in the right place. But, I don't think her actions in trying to "convert" lost souls come anything close to those of Christ. Perhaps she is a new Christian and he new found passion is clouding her judgement in how to approach others on the matter. I don't know. As a Christian myself, I am rather weary of seeing fellow "self proclaimed" Christians gush out rotten fruit every day and then boast about how they are trying to "save" the lost.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad to be a Christian and I love my Lord. Christianity, in my opinion, is the best thing that ever happened to me. But, it is because of all the "spiritual abuse" being handed out by many Christians and churches that I can understand Hught's thought process when he says his life, both emotionally and physically, has been much better since he abandoned Christianity. (forgive me if I didn't get it all correct Hught.) I think there are many folks who are similar to Hught. They are good people who have been totally turned off by the hypocracy they have seen in many churches and Christians today.

So, JCG....I'll step off my soapbox now. But, think about how the person on the other end of your words might take your words. Then, think about how that is going to help you achieve your ultimate goal in speaking said words. Read some of Kent's posts if you are really interested in having people listen to you. He has a gift in this area.

My son also received Christ because one Godly man kept on and on at him. And I will never forget that man. And I ask God every day to bless him as he as blessed me, by seeing my son saved.
