They are "afraid" to say it because 1) they will offend someone and loose their business, 2) eventually the ACLU will get involved because it is treading on some group of peoples civil rights (they do get involved with the most absurd cases sometimes) and 3) they will offend someone and loose their business. Maybe not this year, maybe not next...but eventually. Same thing for any other business that does not put up a Merry Christmas sign in their door but instead go with Happy Holidays.
The Happy Holidays thread has started kinda late this year. What's wrong people... has the Christmas spirit gotcha!? 8) 42 Days til Christmas! hohohoho
I make it a policy to ignore the Christmas season until the day after Thanksgiving. I will grant you it's getting harder and harder, especially when stores are putting the Christmas decorations next to the Halloween candy. But I will do it, whatever it takes. To date, I have never, ever been burned out on Christmas.
My son and I was bored last night. He said,"lets put up the tree." I did. It isnt decorated because I felt wierd because it isnt thanksgiving yet. Does this make me a freak?
I'm thinking of putting mine up this weekend. My Mom is coming in for Thanksgiving, and she's never seen this house decorated. Don't know if I can talk DH into it or not. :?
I agree Ken. OMG, I have really messed up. Every year I preach how wrong it is. Now I am just a BIG BLACK KETTLE. I am a hypocrite. Oh noooooooooooo. Going to take it down.
Mine goes up later and later each year. Hallmark and Walmart have really sucked alot of the fun out of the holiday for me.
