"Poker Run and Celebration of life ON Nov. 24th" ********************************************************************************* Article from N&O: http://www.newsobserver.com/print/tuesday/city_state/story/762040.html ********************************************************************* Some of you may have known Lil' John or heard the horrible news of his passing. First I want to take a minute to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the prayers, thoughts and condolences over the past week and a half. It still is very numbing and all so surreal but knowing how much love is out there is what keeps the ball rolling each day. I can never express just how much that all means. The peace I have found in this situation...the 5 lives that Little John has given a fresh start with the loss of his. His Uncle Randy flew in from Texas Sunday evening and was found to be a perfect match for a kidney. So Uncle Randy and the kidney were flown back to Texas Sunday evening and the kidney was transplanted yesterday. Two infant twins were in need of a liver and voila...now they both have a new liver. And last but certainly not least....another 17 yr old boy has the best heart anyone could ever wish for. That has given me some peace with this entire situation. Please continue to keep this family in your thoughts/prayers. WE LOVE YOU LITTLE JOHN! ****************************************************************** If any of you have wondered how you can help, we are seeking donations to raffle off and provide as door prizes. If you own a business, work somewhere that would be willing to donate something or know of anyone that I could possibly contact regarding items that can be used as a prize, please contact me. No donation is too big or small. It can be a product or a service. Any assistance in helping out with this cause will be greatly appreciated and all good deeds come back ten fold!!! Also, please note that the proper tax forms will be provided in return for your generosity. Thanks! Thanks in Advance!!!! ~Dawn ********************************************************************
I would just like to say thank you to Garnergirl for getting me in contact with her father at Pro Logistics. He was super kind and I am stopping in tomorrow for his donation. I know the family will appreciate his generosity as much as I do. Harleygirl.....I hope to see you at the Poker Run. I will be working either at one of the stops or at Pastimes assisting with the raffle. I would love to get a hug and finally met your DH. Miss ya girl. You can meet my bo and give me the "Harleygirl approval" - LOL!! KellBell - Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you for helping distribute some flyer's and even word of mouth helps. Lil' John was a young, talented, caring and special soul. If you read the article, his nickname was "Peter Pan" because he was such a positive kid. He will be missed but seeing the community pull together for the family during this time of need is absolutely wonderful. The turnout at his services was a testament to how much he will be missed. Thanks again to all that have helped. I would like to give additional kudo's to the following businesses that have made donations. I am not trying to advertise (I know that hits a nerve w/ some) - just showing love and appreciation for their generosity. There are others that have assisted and I will update this list once I am able to touch base w/ the other benefit coordinators. *LaCocina *Cleveland Draft House *Garner TV & Appliance *Squeaky Clean Auto Detailing *Clayton Auto Spa *Chops Steakhouse *Lock, Stock & Barrel *Jack's Auto Detail *The Pink Teacup *Pro Logistics
GarnerGirl!!! Just slap me (gosh, how many people wouldn't pay to ask me to say that! hehehehe)!! I am so sorry but thank you for clarifying. I want to make sure that I get it printed right at the Poker Run. I would have eventually caught it....or then again, maybe not. Things have been crazy around here. Harleygirl.....No, thank you!!! My phone had to be replaced and well, I lost all my numbers!!! We do need to get together very soon. It's been forever! Not sure where I will be working but if I am not at the Iron Horse, then I will hit you up on the cell after the holidays. MUAHZZ!
