Hold on there. Don't you know that Henry Gray was an atheist who wrote his anatomy book for the specific purpose of removing God's mystery of life? That's bad enough, sure, but did you also know that not once in his entire anatomy book did he mention a soul? Of course, when the book was turned into a TV show, Hollywood got a hold of it and we all know what godless heathens they are.
I respect your faith and your perogative to spend money how you see fit, but this is where you are flat out wrong. Teaching these things to a child shows them how to accept other people for who they are and what they believe, even if it is different from what you believe. This is why kids grow up to be ignorant to the world and prejudice of other people. Kids understand a lot more than you give them credit for.
But clif, your are assuming that I can't tell the difference between fact and fiction. now let's look at the definition of difference.
Can any one use this? ...I'm fresh out of clubs though... noooo It's not really a dead horse. It's asleep. I'm not that mean. I just couldn't find a good dead, postable, horse.
I see. So, it's ok with you if some pseudo-Christian posts lies about a movie possibly preventing kids from being entertained by what looks, from the trailers, like a good movie. Nope, as far as you're concerned, all you have to do is post a picture of a sleeping horse and feel good about yourself. Don't hurt your arm patting yourself on the back.
I'm afraid that your opinion is blinding your abilities to see a differing point of view and your assertion of me being "flat wrong" only seems to me to show arrogance. This is certainly not indicative of someone who can explain acceptance to a small child. However, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Okay, tell me how you explained the world views of religion to your 5-8 year old?? I'm curious. Please use details. I may learn something.
No. I think they should put their movie money in their offering buckets or just skip it and go to Blockbuster Video. And, I feel good about my self whether I post a pic of a sleeping horse or not. ... Do I need to find a pic of a high horse for people to ride instead?
no find a picture of an ice pick, so I can poke my own eyes out and stop reading all the idiotic statements that seemingly intellectual people spew out.....
Sort of like... SHUT THE 7734 UP!!!! (just joking). Yep, I laugh every time someone tells me to shut up. Don't you?
Actually, doesn't happen very often. But yeah, I laugh at it on here. I'd hate to think I got my knickers in a twist over much on here. It's a little light entertainment to break up the day.
Well, I certainly haven't read or seen any reports on anything positive about the movie or the book for that matter. Looks can be deceiving but in this case, the looks speak for themselves.
This wasn't an anonymous e-mail and the quote can be verified through other sources. It appeared in the Washington Post in 2001 when Pullman stated that he intended to undermine the basis of Christianity. Again, I'm not sure what people these days think of principles. I'm not going to sell out just for the sake of entertainment and say "well, its just a movie". If I don't believe in something; I don't coddle up to it. They can take all the references that offend me out of the movie, but they are in the book. The author has stated his intentions for the story and that was to discredit Christ. Who else is the basis of Christian beliefs? If you want to go...go. This wasn't an order for everyone, but just a reminder of those who didn't know that the author of the book hates Christianity.
There are no restrictions there. That's a parental suggestion and probably many parents will carry their preteens to see it because its got talking animals. The Simpsons and the Family Guy aren't children's cartoons, but parents undoubtedly let their kids watch it...or at least make sure that they don't.
Well, do you really want idiot parents and their offspring in your "flock"? Think of it natural selection from the fold. It is PG-13 for violence.
