During the thunder and light rain late this morning you could hear a loud emergency signal going off. This was in the Glen Laurel Road area in Clayton. Sounded like a tornado warning signal. Anyone else hear this signal?
Didn't hear any emergency horns - - - but I live off of 210 and at first I thought I heard thunder, but then I thought it had to have been a low flying plane, which sounded like it was gonna crash on top of the house - it turned out to have been thunder - as it started raining seconds later and the sky had gotten very dark - but it was the weirdest sounding thunder I've ever heard. My sister was here and she looked at me and said WTF? - which was exactly what I was thinking. Two of my mutts totally freaked out - if they could have melded with me, they would have. . .they stayed freaky for a good 30 minutes after.
No. Does anyone know if East Clayton Elementary has any kind of signals that they blast when they hear thunder to alert any kids outside. This signal sounded just like a tornado warning type signal. Maybe Caterpillar has some type of signal like this. It was eerie because it went off during the thunder, dark clouds and light drizzle.
the fish predicted cloudy. no rain. rain was supposed to be north of triangle. certainly no memtion of thunderstorms in the triangle. not unusual for local forecasters to miss.
So true. January 2000 proved that decisively. Supposed to get flurries and got 3 feet; snowdrifts as deep as 5-6 feet in some areas.
I've been needing to wash my truck, but am too cheap to pay to have it done. Because of the restrictions, I should just go out there and suds it up prior to a big downpour.
