At least 15 years ago. For as long as I lived in California, I never visited the giant sequoia until about fifteen years ago or so. I asked the ranger about the trees that you can drive through and he told me.

 

I tried a 12 inch tree. My head hurts from hitting the windshield. ummm, tree made it into the engine about middle hood. Is this good enough.
