Staying home cooking? Going out to eat? Going to family's house? We are going to my mom & dads house this year. For the past 7 years we've done Thanksgiving at our house. We started this tradition in Wilmington and now - it's over. :--( Don't get me wrong, I love my family and am thrilled to still have them around and my in-laws are going to be down (staying at BIL's house) but... I just miss doing everything for the 2 sides of my family this year. Damn, I'm gonna cry. BRB...
My kids and my wife's kids will be at their other parent's house all weekend. We're just going to have a nice, quiet four-day weekend. Probably cook a goose or lamb for just the two of us......I can't wait!!
we usually go back home (Plymouth NC) to my parents to eat, but BIL was in a car accident on Friday (in stupid APEX) and is still in the hospital, so we are having it up here, in case he gets sprung, or not, so we can go hang out in the hospital with him. Take him a turkey plate. I am cooking chocolate chess pie, lemon meringue pies and deviled eggs. My sister has the other 3rd of cooking and Mom does the final third.
We're going to spend Thanksgiving in the mountains! It's something we've always wanted to do, and now we can do it in our new log cabin! So excited!
Cooking a 24lb turkey, homemade stuffing, homemade pumpkin pie as always with family coming over,,, just pigging out and having tons of fun,,, whoever comes over, the more the merrier... Happy Thanksgiving everyone..
Going over to my parents house just down the road. And we decorate their tree, and we do the outside of the house as well. We also do Ginger bread houses that we do at night and my and my sister compete pretty good, but this yr I have a advanged over her now that I know a few more decorating tips. So four of use each have a house and we each do our own. My dad tapes us doing it, and sometimes we can go a few hours non-stop doing it. It's fun! Sheri
Joining sis and BIL and their family for Tday. Their grandkids are the same age group as our DD, so the kids will have a blast. Craft fair on Sat morning at Ornamentea.. Travel safely, my extended 4042 family. Enjoy your blessings...and please allow me to add When you say thanks, there are tons of folks who need out support and appreciation, military, LEO, FF, EMS, nurses,,,and the rest who have to work during the holiday to ensure our safety and security. I am cooking for about 30 people!!! It is my daughters 5th birthday too!!! So we are thankful for a lot!! Missing my daddy so much right now, but happy to be pregnant with our second daughter!! Eating lots of yummy "country" foods and then going to bed so that I can go shopping the next morning!!! Tomorrow night I will start cooking and Friday night I will REST!!!:-D:-D:-D
First time in my life, I'm spending Thanksgiving all by myself. My whole family already left to Florida this morning. I have to work, no choice. Just bought myself a Thanksgiving TV dinner. Oh well. From now on, it's not going to happen again (being alone).
I'll most likely overcook and have too much food. I love the kitchen so T'Day is pretty much an excuse for overkill. Turkey w/ homemade stuffing Homemade mashed taters (my specialty) Made from scratch blackberry cake Apple pie Pumpkin pie Beans Fresh bread Coors Egg nog Oh... and pepperoni rolls for munching in the meantime.
Working. . .work every holiday. Not complaining, that's just the way it is. However, about 50% of my work time requires me to play 8)
That is no fun!! I'm sorry. I am having a full house, come join us. We make way too much food anyway.
Staying home this year, no company, no frills - but lots of food. Turkey on the grill mashed potatoes/gravy stuffing green bean casserole mixed greens yeast rolls cranberry sauce something with sweet potatoes/brown sugar/marshmallows homemade apple pie Icehouse.
