There are hardly any dermatologists around the area. Does anyone have a great one they want to share? What about that new place behind CVS, what medical offices are in there? Any dermas?

If you can Drive up to RALEIGH... (Millbrook Rd near 6 Forks) I have a GREAT Dermo.

    Dr. (MRS.) Edith Winter 788-9070

She has been super with my Aunt, MIL, MIL + me. I think she is the tops, no rush, no pressure to TRY new meds or go under the KNIFE. She give loads of FREE samples too!

    She ROCKS. :)

We've had great luck with the Azalea Skin Clinic in Garner.

I've taken my daughter to the Polley Derm office in Smithfield/Four Oaks, and have been very pleased. We've seen the doc once, and usually just see his assistants, who are wonderful.

I highly recommend Cary Dermatology - (919) 467-8556. And, stay far away from Azalea Skin Treatment as you can.

We've been going to Azalea Skin Clinic for 5 years and have never had a problem.

Anyone know of a good one in Raleigh?

My hubby came home COVERED in welps from head to toe. They think it is either stress or an allergy.

Poor man, they are itching him to death.

They said we should go to a dermatologist.

I would like to go to Raleigh if anyone knows or has been to a derma there.

DH and I have had not-so-good experiences with Azalea. My mom has used one in Raleigh for years and I started with him about 3 years ago. Dr. Andrus off of Six Forks (Computer Drive). 782-3782 Very to the point and knowledgable!

Shelley at Azalea is very good. She is a nurse practing to be a dr. but is already much better than Dr. Ketchum. I hope your husband feels better soon.

Dr. Ketcham in Garner in great!! He is very personable, takes his time, and doesn't talk down to his patients. Both my husband and I use him, and have nothing but good things to say. He's in Garner right off 70W.

Based on PirateGirl's review way back in March, I called Andrus & Associates. Dr. Andrus was busy, and I had to get in right away, so I saw his partner, Dr. Rebekah Oyler, MD. Very nice. Spent time with me. Easy to talk with. And it turned out I had a malignant melanoma which she subsequently surgically removed. (Not the original reason I went in, but got a mole check while I was there - good thing for me.)

I highly recommend Dr. Oyler. 919-782-3782.
3809 Computer Dr, Raleigh (I-440, exit SixForks, and turn left inside the beltline. Then 1st left is Computer Drive.)

Tit4Tat...Go get him some Solarcaine. Its not just for sunburns and bug bites. Get the aloe gel. Also, Calamine lotion and Bendryl could also help. Zrytec is good, but you'll need a prescription for it.

1st post. good try but our experience was different
"very personable" - not the dr. ketchum my wife and i saw.
"takes his time" - in and out in a split second. his assistant does all the work
    does mudpie work for ketchum?

I will have to say that we ended up at raleigh dermatology at falls of the neuse and spring forest.

we were very very pleased. Nice people and very thorough.

he got a steroid shot and some steroids to take orally. Hives from stress:shock:

they are gonna keep an eye on him and he goes back in 2 weeks. It has completely healed up, so far.

If it comes back they want to take blood and see if there is anything "underlying" causing this.
