whoa! I wouldn't have done that for any reason BUT a fire...guess he had no choice! Glad he made it ok...

 

Not as rare as you might think. Enter "cut off arm" into Google and see what comes back (although some of it is personally repulsive).

The reason I did it is I remember a farmer in the Dakota's doing this and also a mountain climber or two.

 

Yep, it does happen fairly often, but I am stuck somewhere, bored right now, so I thought it might be worth commenting on. I can't imagine having to do that, but I'd never say never. :mrgreen:

 

IIRC, Eric Rudolph's brother cut off his own hand with a circular saw, in front of reporters and photographers, to prove a point.

 

I can picture Tom T. Hall singing a song called God the Corn Picker and Me. Of course. those of you who don't know who he is won't apppreciate the image.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

 

personally I'm thinking he's a prime candidate for a Darwin Award, except that he survived
