Does a person necessarily lack social skills because they are abrasive and straight to the point?

 

I read that sentence three times (once really slow). It doesn't seem to make sense.

I fail to see how an acquisition of social skills would make that sentence clear.

Perhaps it is the use of the word "necessarily" that simply does not make sense in the context of the sentence.

Some people are brusque...and quick to the point. Nada wrong with it, unless one is alos tactless.
