FWIW, check out to see if the blue fish are running for shore fishing. Hattereas blue fishing from shore is a good day. Crappy weather usually yields better fishing..or maybe a better appreciation for the post fishing dining/imbibing.. If you don't want to go to Ocracoke or Hatteras, check out surfcasting at Fort Macon, east of Atlantic Beach. If you want charter fishing, give the Carolina Princess in Morehead City, skippered by Captain Terrel Gould. Tell him Carl recommended you. Good Luck. Dont forget your Coastal Recreational Fishing License, if you need one.
I see folks fishing under the bridge by Austin Pond Road and 42 quite frequently, there is even a spot where the pull over and park their vehicles.
Be careful at rush hour. I see plenty of people at Swift Creek on Barbor Mill near the dump quite often. Plenty of parking around there.
Do you need a licence for fishing under the bridges?? My boys would love to try, but I have always been afraid that it is breaking some law.
Go down to Harkers Island, stay at Claico Jacks and catch the Harkers Island Ferry, they will drop you off on the island. The puppy drum were biting at the sholls a few weeks ago.
Don't forget,,, they speak a different dialect there. When you hear something akin to , "My Looooord Hinny, it's good to see your face and eyes." you've just been welcomed by a native. What size were the drum, HG? Be heading "Down East" Friday..."Hoigh Toide, n'feesh, got to go home and dig sum taters.."
That was correct until this year. Now unless you can prove you cant afford them you have to have them even in you own county.
Thanks, I didn't realize they had canged that. Glad I found out since I have been thinking about hitting the creeks again.
