I'd like to have a large steel barrel for burning some underbrush and limbs from my back yard. Does anybody know where I can pick one up?
Go down 70 L on 42 E cross bridge L Castlebury Rd R on Covered Bridge Rd at light L onto Buffalo Rd There's a guy on the R who has them in his front yard. If I pass it this week (which I will) , I'll try to get a #
Jones Tire in Selma on 301 Hwy. Not directly across from the Golden Corral but you can see it form the parking lot. Actually it's right beside The Heritage Bank. The drums are 15 bucks and he'll throw in a top for free f you ask. I needed for burning as well.
Would one need to be concerned about the hash chemicals? Would they draw drug-sniffing dogs, or something?:mrgreen::lol:
Not to be a party pooper but just wanted to tell you guys it's illegal to burn stuff in a barrel in Johnston County (but I won't tell if you do).
Isn't there a statewide burn ban? I'm not sure that you can even burn out of a barrel. I think 100' away from your home, the state has juradiction and inside 100', the county has authority and I imagine the Johnston County Fire Marshal also has a ban. Better check to make sure first. You know how neighbors are...very anxious to turn in 'offenders'.
I really appreciate all the information. I'll definitely check on any regulations or burning bans that are in effect right now. Thanks again.
Dig a hole. Its free and you won't have to worry about chemicals. It might even come in handy the next time you hold a weenie roast.
Please if you go to cut it with a welding torch, make sure you thoroughly wash it out first. I was in Alabama a while back when a gentleman cut on a used 55 gallon drum he got from the city maintenance department. Unfortunately, the last I heard, he no longer had a nose or ears :!::!::!:
