According to WRAL there have been a lot of accidents already this morning due to slippery roads, especially along the Wake/Johnston line and on 42. So everyone please be careful; just because the roads look fine doesn't mean they are.
yep please try to check in today so we know you guys made it out ok... my commute was easy on Poole Rd... be safe peeps!!
It took me an hour to get to work this morning....and I only live 7.5 miles away from my work. Cleveland School Road and 50 were backed up really bad. Thank you to the nice person who let me out onto 50 this morning. Brenda
It took me 1 hr 5 min to get from 40/42 to 70 /Timber Dr (6 am to 7:05) I got on the interstate at I 40 and NC 42 right at 6 am. Got on 40 west, just beyond the ramp. Had to stop, they turned us around, went back up the on ramp, over to Cleve shool to NC 50 north. Got to Lake Benson and it was another wreck. Crazy.
I haven't read about an fatalities yet, but one of our customers came in this morning and said one of their guys was killed in an accident out on 40. Anyone else hear anything about that??
I do not post a lot but I am on vacation today. I am glad I did not have to get in that mess. Be safe...
Just talked to DH, he's been sitting on 40 for over an hour waiting for them to clear the pile up wreck. I'm sitting here sipping my coffee, heh, heh..... while watching the traffic crawl along 1010, must be another wreck at 1010/42, CVS area So glad I'm off today!!
Made it from Hwy 70 to RTP with no problems at all. Traffic was surprisingly mild (I guess they were all stuck back at the 4042 exit) and I got to work 10 minutes early. No complaints here!
There was a three car pile up on Buffalo Rd between Wilsons Mills and Percy Flowers. The wreck was on the Neuse River bridge. One car was almost over the rails. They had traffic going about 15 miles out to get around it.
I did hear of one fatallity somewhere in Smithfield/Selma area. It took me 10 minutes to go 1 mile this morning. Quite a bit of slipping on the bridges also, one scary moment but we made it through...phew! My hubby's been stuck on 40 since 6:30, and he's in park, not moving at all. Only 1 mile off the 40/42 exit, said it looks like 3 or 4 accidents in a row causing the problems.
According to the abc news, the fatality was at Hwy 70 & Turnage Road. A 33 year old man. I am not sure exactly where that is.
What a mess. On my drive to CES the traffic was lined up nearly past Fire Dept Road to turn on to 1010, this was at 8:15. I took Firet Dept to the store & then turned left onto 1010 US 70 near the JoCo Big Prison is blocked right now. 34 degrees now; was 24 when I checked last night at 3:30 --- Burrrr.
Whew, I'm just glad I brought my laptop home, so I didn't have to try to drive to Durham! I took the kiddo to school at 8:15 and the roads were fine (42).
