I know some burn it and some tote it to those dumping stations. I am looking for someone who can come once a week and just throw out my bagged trash in the dumping station.
    how much is that worth?
Do I really need a carting company?
The guy I was using had to quit so I am stuck. Any suggestions?

I don't want to put garbage in the back of my car as I am a bug a phobe.

Why not get allstar to do it?? They bring everything, thats who we have...prices seem decent.

And there is coupon for 10$ off in every issue of the Carolina Clipper, making it the cheapest.

I am a happy Allstar customer as well. I paid for the entire year at once and got a sweet deal.

Love Allstar too, have been with them since they started and with the coupon, you cannot beat their prices. There was a new start up company last year, cannot remember the name, but Tommy at Allstar honored their price if you paid for the whole year.

I don't produce enough trash to have a garbage pick-up so I carry it to the dump.

we pay $55 a year to take our trash to the local landfill depo. and they dont say whay you can and cannot throw away, for instance i wanted to throw away an old broken basketball backboard, the local pick up would not take it, they said i needed to take it to the landfill myself" bullcrap" and pay an additional charge not to mention gas. no way! I will stick with taking it myself where i can dispose of whatever i want to, and i can take it whenever i want to almost at my discression. i also believe that the local pick up is crap for the envirnment! for instance if they dont take your trash and you dont have the option to take it yourself folks are now just dumping there crap on the side of the road and the area incarcerated criminals and the warden and his peepsthat are being paid by our tax $, are on the side of the road cleaning the crap up! take notice that after CHRIST-mas that those that dont have the option to take there own trash, trees, metal, washingmachimes refridgerators etc.. will dump the stuff they cant put out for pickup! on the side of the road, because there trash pick up company will not take there old CHRISTmas trees or white goods etc. this whole trash thing needs some serious rethinking!!

Where is the landfill or county dump, for Johnston County? Can I take anything there? Is there a charge? My subdivision has trash pickup, so I'm just thinking about things that I'm not supposed to put in the trash - like wooden door frames and solidified cement mix (not sure how I can get this to the car).

If there is one thing JoCo has plenty of, it's refuse.

Find a liberal in your neighborhood and dump in on their lawn...just joking

Seriously, I have a "Johnston County Vehicle" that I use to make the three mile trip to the green boxes. I think the sticker was like $50.00 a year.

BTW, the vehicle is an old beat-to-hell Ford pick-up. I call it my "Johnston Co. Vehicle" because that's about as far as I dare to take it. Probably would fall apart if it had to make the long haul to Garner or Dunn.

On the topic of trash pick up...are there any ordinances that dictate what time service trucks can begin travelling through neighborhoods?

We've been checking into service providers recently too. We have Waste Ind and they're the only ones that will pick up recycle items, for an extra cost of course. But we don't have a truck to haul our trash in, so we pay....:-(

I think I need to just have someone come pick up the bags I have now. I cleaned out a room this weekend and now I have a lot of bags.
Anyone with a pick up want to make a quick buck?
I am less the two miles from the town trash bins...
