Have never been to one until tonight but DH and i went to Jennifer's and it was a blast - we loved it:-D Thanks so much Jen for including us and i really love what we came home with. i honestly had no idea what a White Elephant party was so it was quite a surprise to both me and DH:-D
Well, we could do a lunch before Christmas with one. Would be fun! Oh well, maybe the new year. Glad you had fun!!!
For a White Elephant party, you don't buy a gift, you bring something you already have that you don't want. Maybe that ugly vase Great-Aunt Edna gave you last Christmas. Wrap it up pretty. Then play "Dirty Santa" - draw numbers, the first person picks a present from under the tree and opens it; the next person can steal from the first one or pick an unopened present, etc. If your gift is stolen, you get to steal or pick another one. Lots of fun, lots of laughs.
That does sound like fun. I did go to a party that did that with new ornaments. I think everyone landed up with one they liked.
I've done the Dirty Santa thing a few times before, with gifts of a certain price limit, but the White Elephant part was a new twist for me. It was really funny to see some of the things people brought. And - it didn't cost anything but the gift wrap! :-D
Or a candy dish no one wants. he he he! It's fun til some lady stills a tree from a little kid! Ok both inside jokes. LOL

The last I heard, she was trying to set up something for Thursday the 20th after work at the Draft House, but then I heard CDH is not so open to that sort of thing in the evenings, so we might want to move it to the Clubhouse or ODS (whatever's there where ODS used to be). T4T, where are you? What's up, and what can I do to help? I know you've been working hard at making this happen, so whatever I do, I don't want to be counterproductive. PM me if you want, or just post here what I can do that will be helpful.
