Boy I really got my big girl britches in a wad last night! I took my kid to the Urgent Care and they refused to see us.....1 hr and 45 minutes before they closed!! I contacted the patient advocate this morning and she asked me to type up and email about my experience and email it to her, so I did, here is the body and the story of what happened.. I'll keep you updated as to what happens next. On another note, the gal at Minute Clinic was GREAT!! Three cheers for them, they were absolutely wonderful!
it must be Christmas for sure, as I think I just received my gift. Thank you, Thank you, Thank You, from the bottom of my heart Jen, for writing that letter. I absolutely hate that place for that, and many other reasons.
Jen next time try the urgent care place beside of just tires. Dr. Ray is great and we have been in many times unexpected with my son. The last time we were there until way after they closes because Dr. Ray and the entire staff wanted to make sure my son was ok and they really went the extra steps to treat him. Everyone in there has always been pleasant and easy to deal with. The wait sometimes can be a little long, but that is to be expected.
Weird thing the last time I was there (earlier this year) for a cold (I tend to go into pneumonia easily so I try and head it off early) one of the first questions they asked before they would check me out at the Urgent Care was "DO you have a living will" they wanted to know if I had a "Do not resuscitate" requirement I told them I did and they said they would not accept me if they were not able to resuscitate. Told my Doctor about it and he said they shouldn't have asked about that. I thought maybe it was someone with a religious objection. If so do they realize by refusing to see me they make actually be the root cause of my death?
Yep, Yep, this place is definitely the Urgent Care of choice. They have always been super caring. They always give me free med's too, if they have some in the magic free sample closet (love that).
I have been going there for 4 yrs and just took my daughter in last week for a ear infection and I had to wait for a hour, but there was one other girl before us that had a broken foot (should have been at the emergency room for that), but anyways. I haven't seen Dr. Hartman for a long time, but the other one is the one that we normally see. I had no problem with the wait cause of the girl before us, but I understand how you feel about it. i have never heard of CVS Minute thing, what is that and where do you go for it? We have a urgent care up here on 210 has anyone used that one? How was it, figure it was closer to home might want to look into it. The only thing that bugs me is that my mom couldn't take her in there..I figured with a simple ear infection that it would have been ok, they have to have a notorized letter saying that it's ok for my mom to take her int here, so my daughter had to wait even longer for me to get there from work..it was sad that they would make my daughter wait in pain. Her insurance card is on file, I just didn't get what the big deal was. Sheri
I thought there was one right behind the shell station next to the medcap (which I love at 42). I never really looked hard at it up here at 210 was wondering if anyone else had. Sheri
Girl, you got me all excited, well sort of...HA....seriously, that place is Johnston Family Medical or something like that, gotta have an appointment, full fledged Doctor's office, only open during normal business hours place....Ibet it won't be long though, before they get one established up there.
Well darn it, see I have to pay attention more of what is around me. I use the doctor right across the street from me so I don't need them up there at the shell station. I guess I just gave away where I live huh? lol Sheri
Go to Wake Urgent Care by Just Tires. They are Fantastic. We left here around 8:15 last night. ---They close at 8:45. And, we were seen. Yes, you have to wait but not bad. My 8yo son busted his chin open.--stupid boy stuff! anyhow, very deep and knew he needed stitches. Theya re great and only charge the dr. copay as someone else said on here. He told us last night we needed our own honorary wing there--LOL. (we were there last week for strep throat and another one had scarlett fever). The thing I also like is the staff is extremely kind. No nasty looks, etc. Sorry your daughter was feeling bad. Hey, where is there a CVS minute clinic? Just curious. Good luck. stephanie--mom to 7
I will have to look into that, just my biggest thing is having my parents take her there and at least get her in there before I can get there, with my work it's so hard to get out of there fast, cause they are sticklers about attendance. As long as we have doctors notes we are safe, but even those only go so far, thank god I have missed only one day at work since Feb of this yr. I to want to know more of the cvs thing. sheri
Oh wow, CVS at 42 is now a minute clinic? I thought they were just in Raleigh, that is so good, gives us another option for emergencies,,,,, so that when one nasty place turns you down, another nice place is waiting to see you!
