Does anybody know where you can take an old washing machine to dispose of it? A co-worker of mine just purchased a new one and doesn't know where to take his old one.

    Thanks!!

    Depending on where he lives:
-some towns will come pick them up curbside for a small disposal fee
-Local trash dumps usually have a bin designated for large household appliances
-Metal scrap businesses may pay a little bit for it to salvage the material.

Tell him to take it over to TT&E in Garner.

They'll recycle it and pay him a small fee for bringing it over!

Or, place an ad in the classifieds that it's free, and someone else will come do the same thing.

Hey Bren... just saw this on Craigslist:

I will remove most unwanted appliances working or not free of charge. Washers, dryers, stoves, and refrigerators are what I am interested in. E-mail me or call 255-2650. Thanks.

I'm sorry Ken. I didn't see this until just now. I read him all the posts earlier and he took off for TT&E. I think they paid him $6 for it. He was thrilled!! As for the motor working....I'm not sure. He said it filled up with water but wouldn't spin out.
