I am TIRED of beeping every time I come in and out of a store. I have checked my purse to see if I have a sensor in it, but I don't. People say it's my cell phone, but it's not. I had to stand to the side in Wal Mart tonight while I guess they checked to see if I shoplifted. It is frustrating. I have no other ideas about why I beep except for having an unknown steel plate in my head!! Anyone else have this problem?

I had that problem last year, thought it was my new purse, nope, maybe my cell phone, nope! What it turned out to be was a sensor inside a tag in the hem of my coat, I'd gotten it at Khols. It looks like a regular tag, but if you look closely, it says to be removed after purchase. DH has a metal detector and we took it to the coat after I was embarrassed at numerous stores including Target, Walmart, Walgreens and the Post office.

rarely, some "jump" drives on our keys make this happen.
    Really ticks me off....

I had a box of pseudofed (before it was considered contraband) in my purse and it set the sensor off at WM every time I went through... didn't bug me though...nice to know that they're trying to stop the thieves (they're 'shopping' too).

those folks checking at the door at Wm are more to make sure that no employee/associate is allowing underpaid/unpaid for merchadise to leave the store...to prevent employee related theft.

I've also had a workplace keycard set off those alarms on a regular basis.

Yep, those stupid sensors go off every time I walk out of Wal*Mart with a flatscreen TV under each arm and my pockets stuffed with DVDs.

I have not been beeped but wal-mart let me tell ya, them people want to frisk you when you leave outta there. I was shopping there last week spent way more than I should have, had reciept in hand was walking out and they had to go through my stuff each bag and there were lots of bags. Took forever! I didn't beep or nothing thought oh well wal-mart traffic stop no biggie then got to looking and they were stopping everyone who left out. Its like thanks for shopping at wal-mart lets make sure you didn't Rob us . Don't get me wrong their are probably people who steal from wal-mart but stopping everyone and going through their bags thats kinda like a kick in the butt on your way out the door! LOL

I have never been stopped at WalMart. But I never have my receipt in my hand. I put it in my pocket after checking out and just walk out. Try that. Maybe the "greeter" thinks you want to be checked out agin if you are holding out the receipt kinda like at Sams and BJ's.

Well I had money in my hand too. I thought it was strange cause it never happened before. A friend says it always happens at that wal-mart with her. I do not normaly go to that one( Fuquay) She said she thinks its their policy at christmas time.

IF you shop at Walmart, you can pocket your receipt as long as all of your purchases are bagged. If you have an item that doesn't fit in a bag, or one that is impractical to bag, keep your receipt handy so the person at the door can see that you paid for the unbagged item.

    I asked, they informed.

As far as those sensors - they are a PITA, never witnessed a thief getting buzzed - not yet anyway.

A few years ago, I was out shopping with a friend at Walmart. Of course, when we left, the sensor went off. She was so freakin' embarassed...everyone in the store had to stop and stare..the cashier walked over, dug a box of "trojans" out of her bag and exclaimed loudly, "It probably would have helped if I de-sensored this, huh?"

I could not stop laughing! Just the horrified look on my friend's face alone! She almost left without them!

So now, everytime the sensor goes off, I always look. :D
