I thought I was losing my mind! LOL Oh, see that new button? The little triangle? That's to report someone's post, lol I see trouble coming!
How does that work? I wanted to do it once. When I clicked on it, it gave me a box for a message. Should I have copied the questionable post or just said why I believed it was questionable?
I just type the word "spam" in the box. I assume the complaint shows what message is being reported. Those people that keep coming on here to advertise free stuff if you just click on this link, they aggravate me, so I do that whenever I see one of their posts. The post then disappears, usually in a very short time, and the poster disappears as well.
Not sure yet if I like the new look. Change is soooo difficult. If one signed up to be invisible does it still show if they are on now? Grace
I gottcha and no it really doesn't matter I was just wondering. I am with you that I liked the old with better and I would like signatures too. I am grateful for what we do have though. Grace
Any format to the 4042.com forums don't have an effect on your profile settings - they remain the same.
We are actually getting ready to move to a dynamic width forum layout, which is why you are seeing some changes pop up as we test settings in the background. (For anyone who might not be familiar with this term - a dynamic width forum means that the forum will use the full width of your screen to display content.) When we updated 4042.com's "look and feel" at the first of September, we had to use the forums in their out of the box configuration until we could spend some time on them to fully integrate the forum software into our new setup. We have a few more configuration items to deal with, but should be making the update soon. Please note that these changes to the forums "look" don't affect your profile settings on the forums. Poster information *may* end up as a column on the left (as some of you saw us testing today) instead of across the top of the screen. This might be necessary to keep the dynamic layout from breaking under certain circumstances - we are still testing this. As for signatures, vBulletin (the software that these forums run on) does not have in the current version what we feel are adequate controls for managing signatures with their "all or nothing" approach. Those controls are available with 3rd party "hacks" of the software, but using those introduces another layer of issues, in particular when forum software updates are required, which is done on a regular basis. Back to testing.....
THanks for 'splaining all that technical stuff to us. Y'all do a great job, keep up the good work and thanks! :-D
