I'm supposed to meet some friends for dinner next week. We're all coming from different directions and the Crabtree Valley area seems to be equal driving distance for us, so I'm looking for a quiet place where we can eat and talk, and that won't break the bank. I'd rather stay away from places in the mall. Any suggestions?
Try The Peddler. It is up towards Pleasant Valley Promenade, on the left side as you go towards Durham from Crbatree. Really good food, in a quiet setting. Old time steak house.
What type of food??? I suggest if you want a low key, relaxed environment then try Buffalo's Cafe! Great food and drinks (if you like southwestern food).... but it is relaxed and low key place. I love Cheesecake Factory too!
Although Cheesecake Factory is great, you can't even hear yourself think in there its so loud. Not exactly a great setting to meet friends and catch-up, not to mention OP wanted to stay away from the mall.
Gotta throw some props for Casa Carbone. It's in the same area as Peddlers. Awesome Italian place, right outta da neighborhood!
Bella Monica Italian Restaurant 3121 Edwards Mill Rd Ste 103 Raleigh, NC 27612 Phone: (919) 881-9778 I'd call for a reservation, because they are always packed. It's awesome, and don't just take my word for it...you can read the reviews here: http://triangle.citysearch.com/review/35899069
On Creedmoor about 5 miles or so from Crabtree... Stein Mart and Harris Teeter are in the same parking lot. OutBack is also in front of the parking lot! You can have dinner, a Margarita and then you can walk out and go to Starbucks next door for a coffee! It is southwestern style food with the best wings around! They have great salads and plated food too though. I just like it because it is not the typical place around every corner. I also like Blinco's that is just past crabtree! They have an AWESOME grilled tuna steak salad with a wasabi (probably spelled wrong) mayo dressing!! LOL (can you tell I am pregnant??)
Casa Carbone @ 6019-A Glenwood Ave. It is about 1 mile from Crabtree Valley mall toward Durham. This is a excellent Italian Restaurant. Quiet atmosphere for private conversations. You will not be disappointed. http://www.casacarbone.com/

Here's another vote for Casa Carbone!! Lets see...what else... PF Changs which is omg, good chinese food. There's also Kanki (both places are located in the mall but you can access it from the outside). Downtown Raleigh has a TON of good restaurants, just a straight drive down Glenwood. Brier Creek is a ways down, they have some good restaurants (I heard the Brazlian one was really good) I would stick with Casa Carbone. They are excellent!
Kind of can't go??? You were not a part of the police beating there were you?? LOL Sorry that was not really funny! Yeah, I loved them at Quails Corner too! Ate there on Friday's a lot!! Meatball subs!
No, I would have to agree with you (not worth it) ! Humm.... if she is still a server there I would know who she is because the owner fired all but 2 when he moved! LOL
I said...and NOT break the bank LOL! Thanks guys for all the suggestions, looks like Casa Carbones might be a good choice. But keep 'em coming if you think of any more.
Depends on what type of food. When we go around Crabtree we eat at Kanki or PF Changs. Just love both of them, although Kanki is not real good to be able to have a get together. We have loads of restaurants...it really depends on what type and where. Grace
Kanki is good but there are always drunks there hitting on you. Its not a family place! Not imo anyways.
OMG. ALWAYS? We've been there several times, with our kids. I've never had a drunk hit on me. Kanki is a nice choice, it is tasty and entertaining but kind of pricey.
