Behind Crabtree there use to be a killer place called Cactus Flower. I am not sure what's there now. But it is a great location. If nothings there.
Yes, Casa Carbone is good and PF Changs in THE BOMB! Dos Taquitos is a fun Mexican place (pretty good food, but better atmosphere) right up Creedmor a couple of blocks.
Great choice. One of our favorite restaurants. Same family has owned and operated Casa Carbone for many years at current location and before that at another location in Raleigh. Portions are large. Ask about their "lighter fare" portions if not big eaters. Their salads are always fresh and good. As previously mentioned it is a good atmosphere. It is a very large restaurant, several rooms. If you go I hope you will report your experience. Good dining to you and your friends.
Its not there anymore. I think someone turned it into a French restaurant. I remember reading a write up in the paper (a couple of yrs back) about all the money they'd spent on it.....but I don't think it did too well, not sure if its still there or not either. Went to Cactus Flower a few times, it was good! One of the other girls suggested a place called Ben's or Ben's Place out by Carmax....she says it good. Anyone heard of it?
Below was posted awhile back, but this place has now re-located over near Crabtree. Serving dinner only right now. Not sure if it is sit down or just take out. Great Food! "Louise's authentic Louisiana Cajun Food in Clayton. Finally tried them tonight. Rainy weather so take out sounded good. The seafood gumbo and chichen/sausage gumbo was very good"
We have eaten at Kanki for both lunch and dinner, weekdays and weekends and nothing has ever happened. We don't sit at the bar, we either sit at a table or at the sushi bar. We have gone, just the two of us and with groups, with not a problem. Food is good and we always take some home. Grace
Agreed. The portions are pretty good-sized but, hey....if they weren't, it wouldn't be Italian! I love the place. You won't find a more "authentic" Italian place around. It's the first place in Raleigh my wife and I went to eat so it kinda holds a special place in my heart. You know what? As a matter of fact, I am going to take her this weekend. Saturday is her birthday and she is turning **COUGH40**. She is a little depressed about hitting the big **COUGHFOUROH** so I think that might cheer her up.
Tell her that the forties are the best. More mature and self-assured. She will love it. Everything is still pointing up (don't tell her that part). Grace
P.F. Changs in Crabtree Mall would be my recommendation. They have a great sea bass entree' as well as many others we've tried. Always had a good experience there.
Dos Taquitos Mexican Restaurant The "coolest" atmosphere in any Mexican Restaurant in the triangle area! Awesome food, yummy margaritas, great girls night out restaurant! http://dostaquitosnc.com/ 5629 Creedmoor Rd Cross Street:Between Millbrook Rd and Plaza Pl
We went to Ben's Place, out near Carmax. It was nice, the food was good. We had a great time talking about the 'ole days"! We haven't seen each other in almost 15yrs, we've aged well - was like we'd never been apart. 8)
Ben's Place? Does not look like any of our 40/42 suggestions were well received by your friends. Glad you had a great time. Being with friends is very importand.
Ben's Place is owned by the same person or the son of the person that owns the diner in Clayton on Hwy 70 near Lowe's Foods. Just FYI for those who didn't know.
