Anyone have a good after-school recommendation in the Cleveland School area? (specifically Polenta Elementary) I know the school's afterschool program is full but am looking for one approporiate and safe for a Kindergartner. I also would be open to a Stay at Home Mom from Polenta. Also thoughts on Kid's Clubhouse or the YMCA would be appreciated.
Cleveland Creative Kids is on 1010, on the right, beween Polenta and 40/42... My son went there for a few years, I highly recommend it.
I personally could NOT recommend Kid's Clubhouse for a child in Kindergarten. I think they are a decent business do not get me wrong, but not for children that young. They are not structured, which I think a child in kindergarten still needs. My child went there over the Summer (a kindergartner, and will not go back until older). If Polenta has an after school program I would sign them up, kindergartner's get the first spots. The after school programs are generally well supervised and structured. If you are already on the waiting list and need a good program check out a karate after school program. They are generally structured, and they get karate lessons as well. My child goes to Jackson's Black belt Academy and is doing very well. The owners are very nice, Christian people and teach self discipline, respect and confidence. I hope this information has helped. These are the only places that I have personal experience with, so I can't say anything about any other programs.
It has been several years, but we loved Kim's Kids. I am not sure what schools she picks up from, we are Mcgee's. Good luck, be sure to do your research.
Interskate Kids have a blast there, and they bus to many area schools, Polenta included. I've had very good experiences with the YMCA summer program. The counselors there were very responsible and great with the kids. Snuff
It was Cleveland Creative Kids for both of my boys for many years...Ms. Paula is Great!...and they made MANY friends that they still have now even in H.S.:-D
