Since it is Monday, perhaps not all my synapses are quite firing yet. But are you suggesting that the fact that the man has his business insured is some sort of proof that the fire might have been purposely set to collect said insurance?
Clif, I'm pretty sure that's NOT what they are saying. I think they are pointing out how ironic it is that he thanked God for having insurance on an establishment that might be seen as less than holy.
Like I said, it's Monday. Funny, I don't remember anywhere in the Bible where it says, "Thou shalt not remove thy clothes for money"
Remember.... I didn't offer my opinion, I just explained what I thought Blessed's and R2CMK's train of thought was.
Well, the body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. We are not suppose to defile our bodies. Taking off our clothes for a room full of people for entertainment is a form of defilement. The body is sacred and not to be taken so lightly or to be used as a "free for all". The adage, if you will, "if you have it flaunt it", is a thing society put into action I guess. I may "have it" and maybe a little more than others but I do not feel the need to flaunt it. Nor would I feel right even if I looked like actress Heather Locklear. Yes, it is a personal choice to do this type of job and people have their own beliefs. But from MY own humble perspective, like blessed and Ready, it is ironic to ask for or thank God for His blessings on something that He does not condone. It is wonderful and God should be thanked that no one was in there or hurt or killed. Seriously now, Am I making sense?
That's a matter of opinion not shared by all (or even most). The same could be said for acting or even dancing.
This is true but defile is defile no matter how you show it. And I did mention in my post that this type of work was a personal choice and that everyone had their own belief on it. I'm speaking from a Christian perspective. As for clothes on trees, I wish it could still be that way. But it isn't. So...happy shopping!!!!!
You should just call stripagrahams , they will come out to your house ,you can get them alot cheaper! hehhe! I don't know about the women strippers but the men will forfit their body guards and go cheaper but you have to insure them that their are no jealous men gonna show up. The last party we had one come out one of the girls was a little drunk and was licking his abs and he kept right on going. ( No not me)
I think, maybe, you need to tell me what "defile" means to you, since it doesn't seem to be the same definition as is in the dictionary.
I have thrown a many and been to a many and have never seen anything over the line. Thats my story and I am sticking to it! LMAO
Actually, he was a life-long resident, and a local contractor. Harvey was ahelluva nice man and quite a character. He originally built that building back about 1975 and, along with a partner, opened a Rock-n-Roll bar, by the name of HARVEY B'S. They ran it for 2-3 years and sold the business which morphed into, over the years, different genres, ranging from country- western (HI-YO SILVER's) a hip-hop dance club (BIG DADDY'S) and a few more before it became a strip club (THE BODY SHOP). That was sold a couple of times, 'til it ended up as THE CRAZY HORSE. I know his widowand both his daughters well, and yes I happen to think that these folks ARE the typical life-long residents that make JOCO a GREAT place to live. I am not sure, but I think she sold that building a few years ago. Even if she didn't, she certainly had the right to rent it to whomever she chose. I feel sure it met the zoning requirements in Wake Co. (yes it is in Wake, just across the county line) because back then,as now (some things never change) you couldn't sell beer 'out in the county'. At his funeral some years back, I remember "On The Road Again" (Willie Nelson) being played, per his wishes. That was Harvey, 'on the road' to his next, adventure, enterprise, in that case his next life. Harvey B. Gordon was one of a kind, and if ya'll had had the pleasure of knowing him, you'de miss him, too. Here's one 'to you', Harvey  Hope to see you again!!
