Celebrities That You Met

Just thought it'll be a cool thread to start out with.

Does anyone met any celebrities in their life? I mean up close and chat with them?

I'll start with mine first:

1. Benny Hills, Troy Aikman, and Robin Leach - sat/chat with them during the Miss Hawaiian Tropic pageant event.

2. The Wiggles - met them before they became famous worldwide. They were performing in Sea World Orlando.

3. Rusty Wallace - used to worked for him.

4. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, and Tony Stewart - handed trophies to them.

5. Marlee Matlin - was invited to have lunch with her.

6. Peter Jenning - met him when he visited my college art gallery.

Other than Hank Aron and Trip Tracey who I have actually talked to, I don't know if I have met any. Have been in the same room & plane as Bernadette Peters and Gary Busey.

 

I met Michael Jordan twice. I spoke to him and got his autograph back in 1983 when he was at Carolina. Then I was working in Greensboro at a country club in 1991 and met him again when he came to play golf.

I saw Carrie Underwood at the mall when she was a contestant on American Idol. I was in LA and went to the Beverly Hills mall, and there she was walking passed me and I was struck with how pretty she was. As she passed me I realized who she was and turned around to watch her take a picture with a young girl before the body guards wisked her away.

 

Wolfman Jack. The Air Force was doing a promotion years ago when Mr. Pibb first came out, and Wolfman Jack was the promotional spokesman for Mr. Pibb's introduction. They had Wolfman go up in a hot-air balloon that was 1/2 Mr. Pibb balloon and 1/2 Air Force balloon. He was to go up with my dad, who was an AF recruiter at the time...and my dad let me go with them.

Wolfman was kind of scary, actually. That voice and all that facial hair! :lol: He was very nice, though.

 

I met Jag from the Next Food Network Star and had my picture taken with him. I've also been in the same room with Kristy Yamaguchi (sp?) and Jerome Bettis. I sat next to Elizabeth Gardner at dinner one night. Is she a celebrity?

Yep, that was almost 20 years ago.

 

I worked with KC and the Sunshine band!!

Marlee Matlin is one of my idols!!! What was she like???

 

She's a doll. She was dating Bill (William Hurt) at that time when I met her and they were going through a rocky relationship. She smoked and drank beer, but all that changed now as she's happily married to L.A. cop and had four children.

 

In 1990 (I was 12 or 13) I won the chance to meet Donny Osmond from the local radio station. It was during his later solo career, and I didn't really even know who he was, but my aunt who'd had a teen crush on him in his earlier years, was very jelous. A few years ago, I got to meet Deana Carter because a friend of mine was dating her guitar player, and got me and a few of her other friends ticketets and passes to the meet-n-greet.

In 1998, my husband was a police officer at NC State, and they work all the events at Carter Finley Stadium. He got to work back stage at Famfest? (some big country tour) and got to meet Faith Hill who was really pregnant at the time, and a few others on the tour, but I can't remember who.

 

One of my jobs (and I've had lots of jobs) was at the North Raleigh Hilton, good grief I've met everybody, I think. The Hilton is where all the bands stayed before, during and after concerts at the Alltel Pavillion (lots of FREE tickets) :mrgreen:
