They just completed major renovations to the club. I did a little of the work. Looks like I'll get to do it again if they rebuild!!!! We actually had a vendor refuse to sell us materials when we told him where it was to be delivered???

The building was on fire again this morning when I passed by and there was a large group of fire/rescue there this afternoon when I drove back by.

Good grief there was a ton of stuff in that place.

No, I don't think that Jesus would be proud of what goes on in a place like that. On the other hand, I don't think He would be "proud" (the word used by the mothers of the users) of people calling the patrons "manwhores." After all, didn't He hang out with prostitutes and protect those whom the mob wanted to stone?

    Some thoughts...

I've never seen anyone being thrown or escorted bodily into one, but have seen several escorted OUT.

Is there not something more productive for ALE agents to do? Do the likker stills in East Johnston, Harnett, Sampson, Duplin not merit any more investigation? I have a bigger concern with sale of alcohol to teenagers than I do the possibility that someone will engage in some act in a private club for cash.

Isn't it clear that morality can NOT be legislated?

If the prevailing thought is that the owners are such fine outstanding people, and should be able to exercise their legal right to rent the bldg to anyone, does it not hold that a dancer can work in such a place and be under the same sense of economic exchange?

I knew a deputy sheriff whose wife was a dancer in FL. She had incorporated under s sub chapter S, paid her taxes, etc. I asked him how he felt about it. he pointed down to his 700 dollar pair of boots and said, I appreciate what she gives to me. I asked her how she was able to separate the work environment from home? Her response was that while she was performing on stage, that she was mentally miles away..filling out a mental grocery shopping list, thinking of the colors she wanted to redecorate their den, etc.

    Food for thought...

    Why not invite her along?

And you base this arrogant statement on???

Oh, I see, you believe that a stripper and a prostitute are the same thing. You're not arrogant, you're ignorant.

No, strippers and prostitutes are not the same. But in SOME cases, not all, stripping leads to prostitution. Not to mention alot of drug use and meeting men who can be abusive. I knew a girl when I lived in Jacksonville, NC who worked as a stripper. She knew how the business REALLY is. Most people go to WATCH the girls and because THEY enjoy watching boobs bouncing all over the place, it makes it an "admirable" job. The only thing they think about is the thrill at looking at other women's boobs. These girls, for the most part, get into drug use, bad relationships, bad reputations, some are disowned by family, etc... I can't help but think that if anyone here had a daughter, sister, mother, cousin, wife or girlfriend they cared anything about, they'd DRAG her out by the hair of the head if they had to.

No, God did not say "thou shall not do this" but he did not say He was all hunky dory about it either. When you think of God, do you think He is really ok with this? As much as He tells us how we are to conduct ourselves and respect ourselves and each other, mind, soul and BODY??? You actually think God says, "Ok, now. Build the halls and lets have women strip down, dance around naked for man's pleasure and I am just sooooooooo ok with it." ?????? UMM I think NOT. If He was ok with women doing this, these places would prosper more and they'd have more support and WAY more women doing it.

    Where are morals these days?

Depends on how you define God, I think it is fine with it, probably part of the plan.

The story of the Pharisee in Luke Chapter 7, Verses 36-50 gives one example of why Jesus extended his compassion to those that the public felt were undeserving. However, it was those that came to Jesus in faith wanting forgiveness that were forgiven. Jesus explains in a parable that there was a certain creditor which had two debtors: one owed considerably more money than the other. Neither had anything to pay the creditor, so he forgave them both of their debt. Jesus asks the Pharisee named Simon, which of them will love him most? He answers Jesus by saying he that he supposed that it was the one forgiven of the most debt and Jesus tells him that he has judged correctly.

While in the Pharisee home, a woman had come to Jesus with a box of ointment. She began to wash His feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed His feet and then anointed his feet with the oil. The Pharisee was offended because of the reputation of the woman. He could not see her faith in Jesus and her need for forgiveness from He that could give it. Jesus pointed out that her sins, which were many, were forgiven and she loved much. However, those whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.

That is so true even today. While we are all guilty of sin, those who have been to rock bottom and have lived a life full of sin; when they are forgiven and cleansed so much more of their burden has been lifted from them. Jesus sought those who needed the most help in many cases and they stand as such good examples of what salvation should mean for all people.

I think God has more things to worry about than who's showing some T & A .

And in some cases, not all, being poor leads to prostitution. So, what's your point? Should we ban something because it might lead to something worse?

A lot of women do that without stripping.

    From an admirable job?

God did not say he was hunky dory with television (or, in olden days, theater), but you still watch, don't you? Sinner!

Absolutely 100%. After all He invented nudity, it was man who invented clothing.

You seem to think nudity is something disrespectful. How dare you want to cover up what God has created.

So, considering that churches usually don't prosper, but berely eke by, then they are also places God doesn't want around.

That depends on whose morals you refer to. Yours or God's.
