I'm going to have a sale on Saturday because I'm moving. The only yard sales I've had in this area have been ones that my whole neighborhood has. My question is do people tend to come to "single" yard sales, or am I wasting my time? I'm going to advertise on here and Craig's List. Any other suggestions?

    Yes!

You put a sign out on a main road and people will come. May be all hispanic but you will get company.

I'm selling a computer desk, twin bed, stereo, TONS of clothes (women's size 8-10, medium) some housewares, and all sorts of other things. I'm in the Wynston subdivision on Guy/Amelia Church Road.

what brands are your size 8 stuff? (only asking because some size 8's fit better than others)

Honestly, I have a ton of stuff and really don't know. Most of my stuff comes from Gap, Banana Republic, Kohls, TJ Maxx, Ann Taylor. So, probably that's wear they're from. The majority of my stuff is 10, not 8.

It depends on the weather this time of year. If it is too cold or wet they are sometimes a bust.

Do you like/not like the area out there? We just looked at a house out there yesterday. (it wasn't yours was it??)

No, my house isn't up for sale just yet. We're still preparing it for the market. It really is a nice neighborhood, but my husband and I just need a little more space. I actually am very sad about leaving.

    Former Wynston owners here....

HOA is a bear. Homes are too close together. Pool was nice. Clayton city taxes. We moved out to the Cleveland area, got more house for less, larger lot, and space....dear sweet space...no city taxes..yet..hopefully we'll start our own movement, in lieu of annexation.

Loriana ~ we are not too far from you. We are just a little further down on Ameilia. I hate to say it, but I hate HOA's also. I really don't like someone telling me what I can and can't put in my yard or what color I am allowed to paint my house or anything like that. Now some people love them. I have a friend that does. I am glad the subdivision we life in does not have one. I am just worried about the Town of Clayton putting us in town.

You might want to watch the weather for this weekend. I think it is suppose to be pretty cool out, which can hamper a yard sale. Might not get as many people as you usually would.

    Yard Sale Listings

We had a very successful YS back in the spring. I put up signs at the entrance to the neighborhood and also put listings on craigslist and cary yard sales. I had a lot of people say that was how they found me. Good luck and have fun!
