Well he is gorgeous and big and sweet but not our baby. He is a purr-bucket, they say neutered although he hasn't let me check and got his rabies shot! Anyone needing a new forever cat?

Oh, Man!! I've always wanted one of those! DH may move out if I brought another cat home though. 2 is plenty. I will keep my ears open though!

I'm afraid Sheba would object, though. Hope you do find a new home for him soon!

I want him! Is he dirt trained? DH won't do a litter box. Also is he tolerant/not too playful? (could the shelter tell me?) I can't get DH to grasp the fact that people own dogs but cats tend to own their people. He's anti-cat but he's coming to realize that there is a thin line between anti-cat and possible-ex-wife. I have two young males (human variety) are 7½ and 9, not mean but can be loud.

No, that's ljk that adopted him, just in case he was their cat. She had somebody else, who was going that way, pick him up for her. It turned out not to be theirs, so she's still looking for a home for him AFAIK.

M DH was not a cat person when we married. After I talked him into letting me get a cat, he kind of liked the cat. He would say Henry was not like other cats, and sing his praises. We had Henry for quite a few years, then later we had a succession of other cats, sometimes more than one at a time, and he began to realize over time that each one has his own personality, but he liked them all. Some of them adopted him as their chosen person in the house, even though I was always the one who fed them and cleaned their litterboxes. So husbands can be trained. ;)

    Good luck!

    (Thanks KD's)

Yes he is here. We were hoping it would be our lost cat. I planned on him staying with us either way. But the family still wants to hold on to hope of finding our cat.... I don't blame them.

Come meet him!! He is so super friendly. I think he is used to being inside, he jumped right up on my couch and made himself at home.

Let me know if you would like to come meet him, really!!!

When I was growing up we had a maine coon cat, what a personality he had! As far as I know, he is still around, and living with a friend of the family now. My mom was doing so much traveling, and Phluffy and this friend were great together, so he kind of adopted him. All the Maine Coon cats I've known, have all had great personalities, been big purr-ers, and love to chirp (talk).
I'm sure LJK knows what I mean when I say chirp... I would love to take him for you, but I have to draw the line at 8 cats!

Tassy, I know what you mean by chirping. My sis has a main coon and I swear his head is as big as mine
That cat talks (chirps) all the time. He's soooo pretty!

Our newest cat has to be Maine Coon, at least part. I know it's really hard to tell with cats if they are not purebred, but she has the huge fluffy tail, the "M" on her forehead, the chirping, and she has almost outgrown the 10 year old neutered males. She's not even a year old yet. Love the personality, too. Not terribly cuddly but she will jump on your lap once a day or so for a little love. Easy to train. I think I only sprayed her once or twice with the water to keep her off the counters. She loves the dogs, too.

If you keep him for another week, your family will be in love! Keep him! :)

My husbands allergies are going through the roof. He has always been allergic to cats, but today he thought his throat was closing. My son is on three allergy meds and this morning he had itchy eyes and nose... so I dont think he will work out long term for us.

He is very laid back, I have him in one of the bedrooms due to the allergies, and he is happy to be in there, not meowing or scratching at the door!!

Anyone?? I don't want to advertise him on the classifieds, I always worry who will take him.

Let me tell DH the situation and I'll get back to ya!

    ... (notice "ask" wasn't used)

I ALWAYS had kitties.... until I got DH.
I tell him the reason he doesn't like cats is because he's so much like one.

 Not the slang similarities! The personality similarities! :jester:

ljk! It's a go! I get to have my kitty! He's fine with it as long as "he dosen't sleep in our bed"... lmao it'll be like Vegas... What happens at the foot of the bed, stays at the foot of the bed. ...Good thing DH is a heavy sleeper. ;)

    Cats rule. Husbands drool.

    OMG !!!!1 That's great!!!

Yeah!!!! Dont tell him he slept in my sons bed all night and with little one at nap!! He likes beds.

When do you want to come meet him? If for any reason it doesn't work out let me know and I will take him back.

(he would have been euthanized today!!!) I am so glad we decided to pull him!

    Happy dance, happy dance!!

Oh- I know you don't want to do litter boxes, but you may need to for a week or so to get him acclimated to his new home. If you just let him out he may wander away.

I've heard wives tales, but not sure if any of them work...

Definitely. And don't worry, he won't be wondering off alone. I have no intentions of letting my new fuzzy buddy out of my sight!

    yay me! yay me!
