Umm...Cleveland Springs....yeah. I guess that makes since on account of all the springs just popping up out of no where. It may sound like a peachy little place, but it makes no true sense. Cleveland School may sound boring and unfun. But this isn't an amusement park.

    Cleveland School..Boring..But logical..

    Oh! Cleveland East! ....

No matter ... I tell every one "Cleveland" and every one to knows where it is. ...

KDs, why can't there be two Clevelands? ... They'd have different zips...!... (really, can't there be two?)

    Cleveland Station

Invokes a folksy, quaint, slower pace of life that everyone dreams of

Maybe there was an actual stage coach or rail junction nearby at one time.

    Just my opinion....

But we should all get used to the name Clayton or Garner, because if the 4042 area doesn't incorporate I'm betting on being annexed. I hear Clayton is drooling at the idea of adding another Super Walmart tax-base.

I like Cleveland as part of the name too, but unfortunately, everytime I hear Cleveland School, I think of a school of fish. (However, I could live with the name)

I thought the Post Office uses the name Cleveland Oaks. I like that, even though there doesn't seem to be many Oaks left.

That would be a little confusing, wouldn't it? ;)

When I moved to Johnston County 20-some odd years ago, if somebody said they were from Cleveland School, everybody knew where that was. Back then, I don't remember anyone calling it just "Cleveland." And Old Drug Store was another place, a few miles down the road.

There is a little community near my home town called "Sugar Grove", it's a wide spot in the road, but I just love the name! :jester:

Ok, thanks to Webbie once again, here are the results of the last vote - so if any of your suggested names are on here, i guess they didn't fly in the vote. Since Cleveland Springs won out last time, why not try to come up with something other than what is on the list to compete with that name - come on folks, get creative, this is our home and who else is better qualified to pick the name than us? Unfortunately for the oldtimers, the newtimers way outnumber them and i just do not think Cleveland School is gonna pass, i am sorry for them cause of course it does have sentimental meaning but the majority of the community now are not originally from this area and more and more keep coming in. So, challenge to you folks, come up with something better than the vote winner, Cleveland Springs and let's vote on it and see where it might take us.
