Who says I was patting myself on the back? I don't volunteer for the GCAA I was just making a general statement. So who needs to STFU Cleo?
He was talking about you.... Hello. Are you REALLY in lala land?? Look at the post above it. ROFLMAO. Seriously. He said HER AND HER HUSBAND BOTH VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME, in response to my post asking about your tired arm. I never assumed you were talking about me, but I could swear you said something similar to this the last time we were discussing sports in the community. It sounds smug and insulting, and I am sure this is not the way you want represent (as a volunteer OR a mouthpiece - whichever you decide to be) the GCAA. PS - When you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
OK, so we can talk about the lights being purchased with the bond money. Just not anything that was NOT purchased with the bond money. Got it.
Cleo - You really need to get over yourself. The one thing I do is tell the truth even when it hurts....if you knew me you would know this. As someone who appreciates ALL those that volunteer in any capacity for children I just get fed up with the likes of people like you. The ones who always want to complain, start arguments just for the sake of arguing, complain, an instigator for negativity, did I mention complain....but yet do NOTHING to change what they feel needs to be changed. Play a part in where the money goes, volunteer to do things so it wouldn't take so much money .....THAT is why I made my statement. I make statements for myself ....not in representing any organization. And I'm positive that what very little I type on this forum is just a drop in the bucket to what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe if more people like me started telling people to shut their suck and get out to do something about it we'd have more of what is needed.
I've become a slacker over the past couple of years ... I'd like to blame it on having a young child, or a full time job, or 3rd grader with homework & extracurricular activities ... but then I look at folks like you and realize my excuses are just that ... excuses. Just so you know ... I REALLY Appreciate all you do. So many days I walk into the elementary school to drop off my son... and there you are ... along with a few other dedicated individuals ... volunteering. Although you say that you don't regularly volunteer for the GCAA ... tonight when I went to drop off my son's birth certificate after 8:30 ... there you sat ... helping out once again. You have kids, a job, a family, a life.... and lots of other responsibilities ... but yet you still constantly find time to help others. You are setting a wonderful example for your kids ... my kids ... and anyone else who has seen you in action. Being an avid volunteer is something to be proud of. If you ever want to ... you deserve to pat yourself on the back ... with both hands. I'm sure you really don't volunteer and do all you do just to toot your own horn. My guess is that you just truly enjoy helping others. You & others like you make this community a better place. I actually enjoy reading about some of the various ways many of the regulars on this discussion board volunteer their time ... organizing the community to avoid annexation or to promote controlled growth, volunteering at the voting booth, helping animals, helping the elderly, Basic Needs, organizing sports programs, helping with the band, girls scouts, boy scouts, church activities, volunteer firefighters, tutoring, helping the homeless, helping handicapped, fostering children, providing homes for orphaned special needs children, etc. etc etc ... or just helping each other. I wasn't even aware of some of the volunteer opportunities in the community until I read about them on this board. I'm amazed at how active many of you are in the community. You guys are great. Thanks for all you do!!!
The likes of me? Complaining? Because I ASKED A QUESTION?? About when they planned to get restrooms? Since WHEN is that complaining? The topic was at hand - bond/lights/improvements.... As a parent whose child has participated in GCAA sports since we moved here in 2001 GOD FORBID I should ASK when they might get restrooms. There is no ulterior motive to my question, it is simple - WHEN MIGHT WE GET RESTROOMS? If you had no answer for that, then STFU and go post on another thread, but no instead it was an opportunity for you to tell people to "shut their suck" (Gah, THAT'S elegant) when nothing of the sort was even warranted. And I think you should take your own advice as you posted it above, and get over YOURSELF and rethink your "campaign" you have going on. Again, it is smug and insulting. If your thoughts are merely representing yourself, than perhaps they might have been better on the Random Thoughts thread or even a seperate thread, and not on the GCAA thread where one simply asks a question. That was quite a leap you made. Look before you jump next time.
<sigh> You're right, we should just abandon this discussion, you don't even have any clue as to what you are saying... Smilies and rolly eyes are more your pace. Like how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop, what was mnredsky's point in the first place? The world will never know. I suspect the world does not care, either. Well - maybe we care about the Tootsie Pop. I repeat. When you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
Someone point me into the right direction My daughter will be 4 this summer and she wants to play soccer in the fall. Where can I sign her up? Thanks
YMCA. Though I dont think they are signing folks up yet for Fall. 369-9622 is the JoCo YMCA office number.
GCAA offers a U4 and U6 league. Sign-ups for the Fall season will be online starting mid-May at www.gcaasoccer.com
