I like Shelly. I have been going there when necessary for about 10 years. I do NOT like Dr. Ketchum (sp?) and will only see Shelly.

Yep, Ketchum is the reason for the inch long scar on my cheek. His "wait and see" should have been, let's take care of it NOW! Ended up having to go to a plastic surgeon.

I took my 6 year old son there back in October for a check on the scars to his face after he was hit by a car.

We were brought into an extremely small room that looked almost like it was for storage. I glanced over at the counter and lying there was a filled syringe with a pair of gloves next to it.

The needle definately wasn't meant for us but I was disturbed to see this just hanging around. Very irresponsible.....

Felt like we were in some slummy clinic

Why would you take 7 kids?

Why would you take seven kids to any kind of appointment?Especialy ones that have issues.
You could have rescheduled your appointment.

Had no choice. And, I asked ahead of time, made sure they had stuff to keep "occupied" but after over an hour and 30 minutes, I can see why anyone would get antsy. Not only MY kids but there were 3 other kids in there and they were ALL acting the same way. The discussion in the waiting room turned to what is going on back there. And I had asked if I needed to come back b/c I can simply reschedule. Told just a little longer. I figured I'd waited that long, why not a little more.

I try to keep them out of appointments as bestI can but some times don't have much of a choice. Plus, rarely do I have an appointment. M ost of the time it's for them and we usually go to specialists that deal w/ all kinds of things. Their waiting rooms are set up for kids and things. Ironically, there was a lady there that day who worked as a special ed teacher and could recognize things others in the waiting room could not. So, she went to "work" in helping me try to manage get everyone settled. (including the 3 that weren't mine--LOL).

Like I said, I don't normally take them all to appointments unless completely necessary. I was told by my regular doc to get this taken care of asap. I think it was more of a scare tactic now. Most the time I go somewhere, I do it when they are in school. That way, only one is w/ me. But he's the loudest as he's Deaf. As a parent, we do what we have to do. When younger, I used to wonder why parents couldn't contain their kids. Ah, now I'm biting my tongue. They were just tired of waiting--LOL.

    Take care,

    Stephanie--mom to 7

I think that would fall under the "none ya" category. I'm sure she would have rather NOT took all 7 at one time. Her answer is a good deal more polite thatn mine would have been. 8)
