Turbo Tax. For the last 7 or so years. Love it. Super easy and quick. Now if only all the paperwork woud show up as quickly.
Beware of those types of places. If anyone was going to do mine, besides myself, I'd go to a CPA. Many years ago used to let those places do mine, but they made some major screw ups and ended up costing me about $4,000.00 (really $9,000.00, but I had purchased the guarantee and that covered up to $5,000.00 worth of their mistakes). Every since I do my own with Turbo Tax, no problems at all.
I use Turbo Tax but for years I went to Hudson's Accounting & Tax Service in Garner, NC. 772-8341. I used to work with them and have known them just about all my life. They are great people....and very knowledgable. Bren
Turbo Tax junkie here. And I used to be a diehard H&R Block fan, until I realized that Turbo Tax is very user friendly and costs me a heck of a lot less.
When I was working, I did tax returns, the program we used was a professional version of Turbo Tax. So that would make sense that the accountant couldn't do any better. When I stopped working, I used Tax Cut, pretty much the same thing as Turbo Tax for a little less money. Either program is good. The past 2 years I've filed online using Tax Cut. If you want a tax preparer, I would recommend having a CPA prepare your return. You'll get what you pay for. A lot of times those places (Jackson Hewitt, etc.) charge too much for a basic return and don't get me started on the "Rapid" refund loans. Just have them direct deposit the money and you'll get a refund within a week or so. (It just depends on when it's electronically filed and whether it got in before the weekly deadline).
We have always has some do our taxes, one of the reasons we still have a happy marriage. Since we came to this area we have had Frank Pittman handle our taxes and are very pleased with him.
Turbo here too. Used to be H&R client until I found out about Turbo and never took back to H&R again. Save me tons of $$$.
DH and I used H&R block for 3 years, each one of the 3 years, they screwed something major up. We were poor and DH was in the AF, it shouldn't have been that hard! I've used a CPA since in years that I felt I needed help. Like I said though, Turbo Tax is easy peasy!
Heidi Moore, CPA in Selma. Did personal and business for $130 last year ( have used them for 3 years) I do have receipts totaled up for them, not sure what it would be for those people that bring in the shoe box...LOL They know what deducttions go where, and I don't, so I would rather pay.
:iagree:After closing the bar, our acct. move to R.T.P. area (a bit far to go..) so we've used Franklin and had zero issues!...Hubby being in Iraq is sure to pose him stress this year however...his pay is supposed to be "tax-free" while over seas...hahah..annnnnddd...NOT!
Have been using Turbo Tax for approx 8 years. Last year I even talked a neighbor into trying it for the first time. H & R was charging her a huge fee, plus stating she was going to owe alot. Well after implementing everything into Turbox and checking for errors.. She was receiving money back.. Needless to say she is a Turbo Tax user from now on.
Just had ours done by Tammy at H&R block on 42 tonight. She's awesome. They are open most nights until 10:00 and they are open on Sunday. I've got people! I'll never have to tell the box that I'm stuck! (love that commercial)
went to Liberty Tax I went to Liberty Tax tonight and I couldn't be happier. I went to H&R Block and the people were just standing around in there not doing anything and didn't acknowledge me so I left and went to Liberty. I am glad I did I got a lot of money back and plus I got to see the ins and outs of the wavers up there on the corner. Still there is no way you would catch me doing that!
