I've been hearing some rumors about adding a Six Flags Amusement Park to the 40/42 area. Has anybody else heard anything?

There is no Six Flags, never was going to be a Six Flags, and never will be a Six Flags in this or any immediate area around here. People bring this up every 6 months and then someone asks about it and then you end up with 10 pages of snickering comments.

No, just something that comes up quite often. We've all heard the rumor and been disappointed when we find out it's not true.

    Welcome to the boards!

 That rumor is as old as grannies apron! Amusing, but old. Considering the smaller Six Flags locations are about 600 acres, and the larger ones about 2,500 acres, it's unlikely there is space around the general 40/42 area to accommodate one with zoning laws. PLUS folks around here squirm at the thought of a Walmart screwing with traffic. . .there'd be all out war if Six Flags ever started sniffing around.

Actually the Six Flags corporation has had financial troubles in recent years and sold off 3 of their parks. So a new park is probably not in the future.

How about a refurbished one? It will be like Natural Selection, Southern Style. "Look Mama! No hands OR seat belt! YeeHaw!"

They are how ever opening and building a Hard Rock Cafe park in Myrtle Beach.

I am upset! This is the first I have heard of the 6 Flags being a myth. What will be next?
