I need ideas for a good dance studio place for my 6 yr old daughter who has never taken dance before. Anywhere in Clayton is fine.

Dance Art Studio is my home studio. I have been dancing there since the doors opened. A new instructor has recently started teaching and she is wonderful. Check them out at their website. www.danceartinc.com You can see all the instructors in action and you can read all about their background. My experienced with DanceArt has been wonderful since day one! Hope i helped.

i had two daughters that dance at Step Ahead. The staff is very skilled, loving and friendly. They have an excellent clogging program ! http://www.stepaheaddance.com/

I second Step Ahead. There are classes in the evenings and on Saturdays for the little ones. There are actually classes this evening that your daughter may like. Some are her age group. Those classes start at 6 pm (weather permitting, of course). The teachers truly enjoy what they do and are very knowledgeable. The children love them and have while fun learning.

The studio number is 662-1143 and the address is: 78 Technology Drive. It's located behind the Food Lion shopping center at 40/42, in the business strip with Curves and the Karate studio.

We love DanceArt. We have been there 4 years. My daughter took Ballet/Tap the first year and Hip/Hop for 2 years. She is now in clogging and she loves it so far. We have had some really good teachers.

But, I wouldn't consider any of these places as being 'in Clayton'. (Just in case she's new to the area........)

Has anyone tried their adult hip hop class? I love to dance and always wanted to take dance lessons as a kid, but my parents thought that piano would be a better option....so I took piano lessons for 6 years and did not take dance lessons. I am thankful that I now know how to play the piano, but still miss that I did not get to take dance lessons as a kid.

With 2 small children...I need an outlet to do something just for ME!

The clogging teacher there is excellent, however, I would never allow my daughters to dance there due to other staff problems there.
