I google and depending on what it is.. like one of the big mayonnaise words like Ken uses, I google and follow through with wiki. :jester:
I like Dogpile.com, it searches Google, Live Search, Yahoo and Ask all at once. No toolbar crap, no major advertising crap .... etc.. But, if it doesn't give me what I want, I instantly move to the next one. Each has a unique index of pages, and differing relevance algorithms. Quit being search engine junkies and sticking with the same one even when you aren't getting the response you want. As for Google, it's (per say) #1 because more people use it as a home page than any other page. Which gives it a hit every time the majority of users go to the web. Being number one on hits doesn't mean it's the best for search results. Google is actually the worst for responding with advertisers first in the list.
I personaly like ask.com It used to be ask jeeves.com . and cdkitchen.com for recipies. two of the best site next to joecartoon.com. but hey I'm just a fool anyway so it realy don't matter what I think.
