I know, I know alot of people..but I want someone that isn't going to charge me 250 of my hard earned tax refund..I'm in need of that money NOW, thanks so some personal roommate issues. Any tips on this let me know. My dad can do it, but he doesn't have the time right now.
    Thanks,
    Sheri

How complicated are your taxes? You may be able to file online for free. Most places charge for a basic return around $125. (Basic return w-2's and standard deductions).

All basic stuff, one job lol
I wouldn't know where to start, I have in the past had like H&B do it, but I'm not in the mood to give up any of it right now.

Nope, used it for years, no problems. You can do it yourself, it's really easy, and you'll have your refund in a few days when you file electronically. It's simple, I promise!

We had ours done at H&R Block at 42 (ask for Tammy, she's awesome) on Monday night at 7:00 and we left there with one of those debit cards they advertise and the $ was on the card by 9:30 Tuesday morning. We paid $147 to have the taxes done and I think it was $29.95 extra to do the debit card.

You just either buy the box with the CD in it for your computer, or I think you can even do it online. Once you download it, it will ask you all the necessary questions and walk you through it step by step. It's really idiot proof if you have all your paperwork. You can buy it just about anywhere, Walmart, Target, Officemax, Staples, etc. Or, just go to the Turbotax website and see if you can just download from there.

Go to www.freetaxusa.com and use that site to file. You also sign up for direct deposit if there is a refund. We've used this for years and like it better than turbo tax. It usually takes 7-10 days to get the refund once it's been accepted. I did our taxes last night in less than 1 hour, got the notice today that federal has been accepted, and now am just waiting for the refund! The state is done at the same time, although it takes a little longer to get any refund from NC. This is a website that is listed on the IRS site.

Depending on your income, the federal is either 9.95 or its free. Filing for state is 9.95.

I just completed my taxes using Turbo Tax Home and Business

I just finished e-filing my taxes. I used Turbo Tax Home and Business. We've used Turbo Tax multiple years. I picked it up this afternoon and it took me a couple of hours to do our return. This was the first time doing my our taxes with my wife's business. I was a little nervous because I wanted to make sure I used all the business deductions applicable. I was very impressed with the wizards that help walk me through the business side of things.

Turbo Tax is very easy to use. Thanks to my wife being so organized with our documentation, it made plugging in the information that much easier. It is definitely better than paying someone else to it for you - imo.

Liberty has the cash card/debit card too. I had my refund on my card later that next morning. Total cost was $120. Plus for everyone I send there (so far 2 people) I get $20 cash back. My neighbor went up there today and she said they had pizza in the waiting area for people to eat while they waited. she waited about 10 minutes.

How are you guys filing your taxes already?

There are five forms that aren't even available yet, and not until 2-11?

    Daycare expenses, mortgage interest, etc??

    I'm missing something, obviously....

I go through my check register for daycare expenses and online for mortgage. I actually received some of my daycare already, from YMCA....came two weeks ago.

She had a really basic return, just a w-2. You should have all your forms by Feb. 15, W-2's and 1099's are supposed to be distributed by Jan. 31st. Some daycares won't give out the form unless it's requested. And pretty much all your banking and mortgage information is available online. If you prepare your taxes yourself you can enter the info that you already have in then pop in the rest once you receive it.
