Does anyone have an opinion on online travel service - which one not to use, or which are good? Travelocity, Expedia, Cheaptickets... Thanks!
I think prices are comparable on all the sites mentioned, but I personally find Travelocity and Hotwire to be the most user-friendly. No problems with any of the others, just used to those I guess. One trick to save a few bucks, though...when you find a flight you're looking for, go directly to the airline site. Sometimes you can save a little by booking directly instead of through travelocity, etc. I just booked a flight from RDU to Phoenix and saved $20 per ticket that way. Not huge, but for 2 tickets it was worth it.
Just got tix to miami from RDU, and the cheapest I found was on expedia...so far have had no problems with them. Used priceline not too long ago and things went smooth as well! K
We've always gone through a travel agent and found the prices were the same as on the websites. Plus, we always need refundable tickets so that makes a huge difference as well. however, my family uses these sites for domestic flights and they haven't had problems. IF by chance you are doing an international flight however, I would highly recommend an agent. Otherwise, use one of the sites and you'll do just fine. Good luck and have a safe trip! Thanks for all the input! I think we've decided on Puerto Rico. I usually get air tickets on the airline websites - they seem to be the best deal. But I've never done a package through one of these sites. Anyone been to Puerto Rico? Any advice?
