Maisy Breed: Chihuahua (mix breed) Age: Adult Gender: Female Size: Small Location: Rutherfordton, NC Shelter: RC Animal Shelter/Protection Alliance Contact Tel: 8282877738 Contact Name: Lynne Faltracto Contact email: rcapa@blueridge.net About Maisy black and white chiX Did you see the terrier mix at Bladen? Very cute also!
Thanks Pickle. I did go to the site. I was kinda hoping to get info about how many years old she is, her temperment, why she was given up for adoption, adoption fees, etc. Not meaning to be too picky, but I have 4 kids to think of on the temperment issue (+ a picky cat) and I also would hate to have the kids (and me) get attached to a dog who is so old and healthwise on her last leg.:?
That is not picky at all, that is very responsible-too bad most people don't do their research. I couldn't find her on the shelter site but I am still somehow amazed at the number of small breeds looking for homes on Petfinder and related sites.
Ready, you've caused an argument at my house!! He's too darn cute! Not to mention the other one dang it! DH is saying no..........................
Okay everyone, I just looked through the whole NC list at dogsindanger.com and the little chihuahua mix is no longer on there so I'm assuming she has been adopted. The little ones usually make it out alive! This fella, however, is still there. He is a young adult who just needs a good home. Is anyone interested in him, I'd even be willing to go get him for you. He has one day left. FREDDI Breed: Rat Terrier (mix breed) Age: Young adult Gender: Male Size: Small Location: Elizabethtown, NC Shelter dog ID: FREDDI Shelter: Bladen Animal Control Shelter Contact tel: 910-876-0539 Contact name: Silvia Kim Contact email: bladenpets@yahoo.com About FREDDI This very sweet boy will die unless someone steps up for him and gets him out before it is too late!
I was just there and she thinks she has a home for Freddi-but it never hurts to call and check just in case. He is soooooo sweet, too! Just starved for attention and wanting to get out of there. I also saw a Lhasa Apso in WCAS pics, I think.
Hey Pickle, great news about the ones you pulled! How much is the adoption cost at that shelter? I went to the Harnett County shelter last week to pull and foster a puppy that captured my heart, but once I got there I saw this old, pitiful dog lying on the cold concrete and wound up getting her instead. She is ours, unless someone comes along and claims her (I told the shelter to let me know if her owners show up.) She DEFINITELY belonged to someone and was a house dog (housebroken & barks when she needs to go out, drinks from the toilet, walks perfectly on leash, no heartworms, no parasites) so I don't know if she somehow got lost, or was dumped due to her age, or what. The shelter attendant said she was picked up as a stray somewhere in Lillington. She is all skin and bones and is right pitiful, but I couldn't stand to think of this old girl dying "in that way." The shelter attendant said they don't get very many as old as this dog. My vet estimated she is between 13 & 14 years old. She has cataracts, she has stiff joints, she has an ugly warty thing on her side that bleeds, but she is a sweet old girl who deserves to live out the remainder of her days with a loving family. (Right now she is lying beside me and killing me with her GAS! :lol Here she is, we've named her Cinnamon. We think she is either a Sheltie or Collie mix. Doesn't she look sweet?
