Since there are several threads going right now about houses for sale, people looking for house, etc., why don't we start a house thread for everything house related. I love looking at houses, it is a hobby of mine, so I'm always looking at stuff on realtor.com and craigslist. If I didn't have a kid about to start high school and had the moola for it, I would love to have a house w/ land like this. http://raleigh.craigslist.org/rfs/567380239.html
I love that pond. When I was in high school and my parents were ready to build a home they used to drive around looking at houses. It was fun. One day they saw a house they really liked that had occupants. My parents knocked on the door and explained to them that they bought some acreage on the river (not here, another state) and they were looking for a floor plan. The owners let us walk around, my parents loved it and were able to use the plans to build our new home. Loved having a dock, boat and water skiing. One time my dad grounded me from using the car and I drove off to visit in the boat, I was in trouble when I got home but he liked the thought process. I do love that pond in that picture! Grace
My house is for sale in the Wynston Subdivision. Who wants to buy it? PM me and I'll send you a link!!!!
Ready, we actually looked at that house 9 years ago and almost made an offer. At the second visit to the home, the grandson was there. He clearly did not want his grandmother to sell the home and started telling us all these stories while the realtor was out of earshot. He said it was haunted and shared examples of hauntings. The owner told us that it was almost tipped over when they bought it in the 60's or 70's (I think). It needed alot of work but was incredible. It has a huge, wide entry way with a large staircase and beautiful hardwoods. All the walls needed repair and the plumbing was just short of outhouse quality though. We passed on the house since it required so much work. The land was incredible and the pond was gorgeous. I wonder if they fixed it up. It looks in better shape than it did 9 years ago. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Ready!
I love that house Ready, I'm with you, I love to look at houses knowing that I can't buy them...Darnit. We just got our Bankruptcy Discharged, so we wont be able to buy for quite a while I love looking though.
Reminds me of the house in Kenly we looked at. It was in forclosure and was a steal!! It needed a LOT of work done.
A shameless plug ... my neighbor's house is for sale. She recently dropped the price by almost $10K and I've read a newspaper ad that says she's a "motivated seller". If you have destructive children, an aggressive dog, yell a lot and lack respect for your neighbors ...please don't bother looking. http://www.hpw.com/SearchPages/Detail.aspx?MLS=Triangle&MlsNum=972467

Moving Boxes Hey everyone, we will be moving in 2 weeks. I am looking for free moving boxes. If you have recently moved or have good boxes I will come and pick them up. PM me and I will get back to you! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be sure to keep a check on Craigslist. They always have free moving boxes under the free section. You might also try the ABC stores. They are usually more than happy to give you boxes and theirs are very sturdy.
Go To ABC Liquor store. I was there to deliver mails and they have stack of it next to the doors indoor. Help yourself. They're waiting for it to be gone asap. It's on Glen Road, across from Food Lion Cleveland.
House selling tips ... #1 When someone stops to get a flyer out of the box ... don't run out of the house and to their car. #2 When someone comes to see your home ... LEAVE ... they don't want to meet you nor will take much time to look through the house with you there. #3 Don't tie your dog(s) to the front porch or tree right in front of the entrance ... barking and growling at a prospective buyer. <My neighbor is never going to sell her house >
