Good evening all. I wondered if anyone here knows of either a place or a maybe a public location with a date that they will be shredding personell information and documents anything that could risk your identy by theft. I could burn them, but with the dry and windy conditions I do not feel as a responsible local I will not set a spark to anything outside. So any help would be great. I have burned up 3 shredders in the last 14 months. Now I am collecting the stuff in garbage bags in the garage. So help me clean up my garage please.Thank you for any help and suggestions.

How much stuff...I have a shredder and make it a point to shred everything I don't want on Fridays.....all those pesky credit card solicitations, etc....

If it's not a great deal of stuff, I'd be happy for you to use my shredder (you have to feed it ), or else I'd recommend buying one at a local business supply place....its cheap insurance.

Make sure you get one that cuts everything into confetti-sized pieces for maximum security.

Having burned up a few shredders myself, let me offer a suggestion. Just shred for 10 minutes or so at a time, and then let the shredder cool off for a couple of hours. Be careful to take out all the staples. It may take weeks to get through all the stuff you have, if you've collected garbage bags full. I keep a paper shredder next to my desk, and try to keep up with it. Much of my mail goes directly into the shredder, just as soon as I open it.
