I know I know.. wrong forum, but I'm at the library and wanted to get this out where most could see it. There is a big terrier type and a beagle walking up and down the road between the Amelia Church (building) and hwy 42. The lady in the yellow house (beside Amelia Church, she has a gaot) is trying to keep them out of the road. They could have come from her but there is a long fence, they would have had to have gone around it. Across the road and fields from her there are trailers but they aren't allowed to have dogs. I'm hoping some one here knows where they belong. The terrier is very loving and playful. I'm guessing maybe 50lbs. Dark grey with a white mantle(? collar? the hair around his neck.) White chest, white socks and one white leg. He has three collars. One is what looks like used to be a leash with the rabies tag attached, a blue and white flea collar and a black shock collar. The beagle ... looks like a beagle, and has a matching blue and white flea collar. Oh.. and there are some weirdo's here- I bet they are posting on 4042
And just what are you doing in my neighborhood??? Anyways... I have a very educated guess as to where they belong. The woman who owns them lets them out, and then could care less about them. They are always roaming in the road near their house, I've not actually ever seen them go this far away though...but it would be just through the woods and over across a fence for them. From what I've been told.. they belong to a woman who lives on Fort Rd., the road right beside Amelia Church (near the new buildling). If one were to go down Fort, pass the first street on the left (Pheasant Rd), she is the house on the corner of Fort & Pheasant. There is a dried up pond in her side yard, 2 out buildings in the back yard, big screened porch off the back of the house. I don't know the actual address or her name. Forever Faithful might know, she is the one who told me who they belong too.
You could check the rabies tag - sometimes the vet's name is on there. Then a phone call can be made and the owner traced. Actually, any rabies tag can be traced to find the owner being that rabies shot and tags are recorded & state mandatory upon the shot given to animal
Thanks for the info y'all. The dogs are one now...hope they made it home. If they were still there I was going to take them myself. Sorry 'bout the sloppy first post. The library doesn't have spell check and I transpose letters badly.
You must have caught me one day when I was actually home if you know there are some wierdos in the neighborhood. Craig
They belong to the lady that is in the yellow house on the corner of Fort and Pheasant. Do not recall her name. The bigger dog has a regular collar on it, but no tags that we have seen. His name is Sammy. He use to have one of those electric collars that goes with the underground fence, and he did stay in the yard for a long time but evidently the "batteries are dead" again. The beagle, well I don't know what her name is. She is a sweetheart though. My daughter loves her to death and she is a good dog. She comes and visits my daughter and just eats up the attention. We have taken her home several times and no sooner then we drop her off or give her to the lady, within an hour she is back out. One night she came to our door scratching on it, it was during the time it was super cold outside and my daughter let her in and she was shaking. One day my son, before he left, took her back to the pen that is in the back and put her in there and told me that the water that was in the pen was nasty and stunk. Wish someone who wanted a little loveable dog would take her home. Doubt that she would be missed. But like I said, she is the most loveable things. When I get home from work, she races down our driveway and is as excited to see me as my dogs are. Wish I could keep her, but.... We have told this lady several times that the dogs have almost gotten hit, expecially the bigger one because he chases cars. I have pulled out of the drive and saw him sitting right there on the side of the road and I have to watch it sometimes when I go to the stop sign afraid he will get in front of me and me not see him. OK, I know we should not probably let the little beagle in, but she is so darn cute and she seems to be house broken and she gets along with my 3. Anyone want a sweetheart??? I am sure if you took her, she wouldn't be missed by her family. Shame on me for saying that!!!!
Hey....I live in this neighborhood!!!! I know there is nothing "weird" about us!! :allears: :ack: :cuss: LOL
No silly- they were at the library sitting beside me LOL A guy came up and positioned himself so no one could see what he was doing but he had perfect view of what I was typing
Ohhhh I see said the blind man. LOL Don'tcha just love people like that! I hate people looking over my shoulder. You should have turned around to see if he was looking and asked him if he was enjoying the "reading material".
I have been behind the school bus in the mornings, and seen the bus having a hard time moving forward because "Sammy" wants to run along side of it and the driver isn't sure where he is.
Cakeprincess....if you want a little sweetheart, please let me know. My daughter just let the little beagle in and her eyes are swollen and when she turns her eyes, they are all blood red. All she is wanting to do right now is be loved up. I do not know what happened, but she does not appear to be herslef and am afraid that she has been abused somehow. I have already called some animal shelter and even the Johnston County Sheriffs office and they told me I would have to call animal control and guess what, they are closed! Anyone got any ideas here! I hate to send her home and let her wonder, but I know I can't keep her in for too long. I have to leave here in about 15 to 20 minutes to take my daughter to church and her youth group. Anyone got any ideas before then?
I have a fit when my dogs take off and I don't know where they are at. I do not understand people who just let their dogs run just because.
Here is what the little sweetie looks like. She is asleep on my love seat. She just does not have any spunk right now:
Well, going to take the daughter to church. Going to take the pup for a ride also. She likes to ride in the car. Like I said, she seems to be house broken. When she has wanted to go potty, she has gone to the door and she loves to cuddle. She is very, very loving. I know it actually is wrong to try to find her a home, but dang, I just hate to see something happen to her. We did get her eyes cleaned a bit and put some drops in her eyes and they cleared a bit.
Hi there! I just read this thread and didn't realized this until someone PM'd me, which I'm glad. Are you sure the owner didn't want her? What I feared the most is if I take her and later on, she's go after me to get her back. This will break my heart big time. Is she fixed? How old do you think she is? Vet number/info on collar? Let me know.
I sent you a pm... Let's see if I can answer your questions.... As far as the owners are concerned, they don't know where she is most of the time anyway. She runs all over the place and she has whined outside my door at 11:00 pm at times. I really don't think they would even care if she ended up missing. Better someone take her than her end up dead on the side of the road. To tell you a little story...the first time this little one was in my yard, the owner was sitting on a little bench by her garage or shed or whatever you want to call it, not paying any attention. When I carried her back across the street the woman never got up. I have taken this little one home many times and told the lady that she and the other dog have almost gotten hit several times by cars and school busses and look....she is still running around. So as far as the owner goes, I don't think they would care. If push comes to shove, when the dog shows back up here, I could meet you somewhere. I do not know if she is fixed or not or who her vet is/was or anything like that. She only has on a flea collar. The other dog has a regular collar on, but she doesn't. I am not exactly sure of her age, but I am guessing a couple years??? As far as more pictures, I will have to wait until the next time she comes over and then will try to get some more. She wanted to go out to potty because she was whinning at the door and then she decided to go exploring some more. She may show back up tonight or it may be tomorrow when I get home from work, which she tends to watch for me and runs down the driveway to greet me. Today was the first time she didn't, but came later on. Now she is a chubby thing, but I think she gets into trash and gets fed by others she encounters. But like I said, she is so loving and loves to give kisses and loves to snuggle. She sounds rough when you can get her to play with a stuffed toy, but her growl seems worse than her bite. She likes the soft toys and likes to play fetch. Just let me know. Like I said, I would rather do this than see her get ran over.
