gym in the area. I want to be at 4042 or mcgees. any recommendations? I know there is curves, fit for life but is there anything else in the immediate area? I dont really want to go where the no necks go. I dont feel comfortable there. You know, where the girls wear thongs to work out. Maybe after I lose some poundage. Thanks yall in advance
I joined Fit For Life in October and love it! I don't feel self-concious at all, and there's more women than men that go there from what I see. Also a lot of "older" people go, so it's not like you feel like you're the fat person in a professional exercise video! The other great thing is it's never too crowded, and you can always get on a machine.
How much is a membership on body contours and fit 4 life? If you dont mind me asking. Oh and space cowboy, I think it would be golds gym in garner. You wanted to see the "no necks" right. ROFLMAO:lol:
Body Contours is not a circle workout....there are weight machines on one side and then the cardio machines (bikes, treads, elipticals) on the other side with an aerobics floor/room. Its for women only and its very quaint and no thongs in the building. The gal that runs it, Dana, is super nice. I believe its about $35 ish a month, with a 2 year contract. She used to have tanning beds in there too. which were a couple a bucks more a month added to the membership.
It's a good place. I never felt intimidated. went in did my workout, tanned, left. no staring, no super model types parading around making you feel uncomfortable. its all girls too. no menz allowed. go up there during the day and check it out....I think you'll like it.
If you go to Body Contours, ask them if they still have the 3 months for $99 deal. I did that over the summer, no contract, no commitment.
:iagree: I go to Body Contours also - have been a member since it opened (started when it was Lynn's at the other location). I like it because its all ladies, not normally crowded, but at times is more so than others. Sometimes there are special membership prices in the Cleveland Clipper. If you're looking for a more social place, you might like Fit 4 Life - some of my friends go there and they really like it too.
body contours sounds more like me. I AM GETTING EXCITED NOW. I think I will go check them out today. my doctors are mad at me. If I dont lose wieght, I dont know what they will do. I go to Rex Pain Mgmt and she had me in tears. I hate her. She yelled at me. I guess it worked a little but she is skinny. She never had a wieght problem so there was NO sympathy at all!!! Oh well. Where can I pick up a coupon clipper?
I get them in the mail, looking at mine right now, they've changed the name of the mailer to One of a Kind? It's a glossy coupon mailer.....anyway they are still offering the $99 3 month special that Jen mentioned. Probably if you just tell them you saw the coupon but forgot to bring it in, they would honor the price.
Body contours is great. You pay the initial annual fee, can't remeber exactly either $59 0r $69. Then with the coupon it should only be $19.99 month with contract. Never been overcrowded when I go, and that is ususally around 6 pm. I think I have a coupon, I will look for you when I get home.
Dana is the kind of person, she'll honor the $99 membership, just because she is down to earth like that.
Body Contours still has everything you mentioned, but they moved it all to one side. The side when you first walk in has what I believe is the same type of equipment that is used at Curves and the other circle workout places. So, if you like that type of workout, it is an option. But you have all the other stuff too, including free childcare during certain hours.
