http://news.aol.com/story/_a/snake-...h/20080227092709990001?ncid=NWS00010000000001 this is horrible poor kids poor dog
I agree it's awful, but when I read the story earlier today, it said the snake had been around for days, and had even been seen in the dogs bed. A great big "duh" to the owners for not keeping a better eye on the dog!
it said something about the mother trying to hit the snake with a plastic chair That this wouldn't do much good for 100# reptile Even still those kids have to live with that visual
Both the dumb parents as well as the kids should be thankful that it was only the dog and not one of the kids. As for myself I am glad to read in the article that they were holding the snake for later release back into the wild. Craig
The article didn't say where the snake came from. Did the family own the snake or did it just show up? They said the snake was stalking the dog, Duh what were the parents thinking. Stupid is as stupid does.
snake was a stalker & yes I agree with you all in the matter stupid is as stupid does still horrible either way they waited the 3 days for the snake to completly digest it b4 they set it back to the wild
I cannot access the original article (probably just a redirect) however is the Python native to the area that these people live in? If not why would they release it? USA Today had an article the other day going into how these big snakes are going to get out of control throughout the Southern USA in the next 1p to 2o years.
Mostly because of pet owners letting their snakes loose in the wild when they don't want them anymore. Same problem with cats and dogs, except we don't have snake shelters and snake euthanasia ...yet.
Why did I just look at that link?! And why did I just look under my desk to make sure there wasn't a snake under there?!!!
I don't know who took pic but they should have made the snake into some shoes or somthing not let him back out there I know I can use another pocketbook!
Not knowing how serious you are with this comment but that would be akin to a Korean family eyeing your dog for lunch. The snake in question was doing what comes natural to it. It didn't randomly attack without cause. To condemn the snake to death because it was doing what is natural to the snake and because some stupid people waited 4 days after it was first spotted before taking action just isn't right. Craig
I will be passing on that. TYVM! I've held a snake b/f, back in my younger days when I was a lot more fearless. Then I watched the Discovery channel & Animal Planet. And snakes look a lot different in action than they do in books. ** shivers**
