I have heard a rumor about the pet store up at 42. New owners! From what I was told they are going to make it very Kid friendly..still going to do grooming as well from what I was told. I hope that they put better lighting in there, to me it always seem so dark and dusty..the birds need more light. I can't wait for the finished results so I can check it out, hopefully they will have more stuff for Parrots so I won't have to order so much online. Any one elese know what is going on up there? I know the former owner's child was allergic to everything in there so it made it difficult for her to be there. I believe she is still going to help with grooming from time to time. I went in the other night and there were laminate floors and they had different stock-Oxbow for my guinea pigs, which I was glad to see! I know Rachel would sell to good people. I am excited about the changes.
I'm excited about the change as well..got to get up there and look around and see what is going on. I haven't been up there in over a year. Sheri
was in there about 2 weeks back and the guy told me the ownership had changed and there would be lots of changes. He didn't know much about what changes would happen though.
I did hear that they will be make BIG changes so I'm sure you won't smell the "smell" in there soon. Sheri
I believe the former owner has started a mobile pet grooming business. I know the new owners from church, and they are good people.
i will definitely miss seeing Rachel up there, she has helped me so much over the years with all my pets and i totally respected her expertise and knowledge on my birds - i do not know what i will do without her - i do hope she keeps the mobile grooming business, it is so much more convenient for my bird's clippings to have her come here than trying to take all of them up there.
I walked in that place one time and the smell knocked me right back out the door. There is no excuse for a place to smell that bad. It smelled like p*ss.
Now it makes sense why I always see a mobile groom van out front up there! Anybody check to make sure the new folks ain't selling puppies?
Speaking of mobile pet grooming. What ever happened to the pet groomer that was in the mobile home on 42 on the other side of 40? Down the road and on the same side as Lowes Home Improvement?. I know the trailer is gone and thats where the new super wally world is going, Did the person move to another location?
I've noticed several mobile pet groomers around the area. I know I've seen at least 4 different ones in the last month. Whoever thought of that had a great idea. I'm sure the dogs are much less nervous at their own home.
My dogs hate riding in the car (weird I know), and it's at minimum a twenty minute ride no matter where I take them. The mobile groomer is the prefect solution.
The Beagle loves going to the dump, because the gentleman spoiled him with a Milkbone each time, but anything more than a couple of miles he does the split pea soup scene from the Exorcist.
Well, I've never seen that movie, so that is lost on me but I can only imagine. Mine pant and drool like crazy nuts! They are ready to tear up the UPS man but put them in a car and they act like total chickens.

Thanks Karen and Pickle (not sure who you really are without a face;-)) I have sold the store and will still be available mobile for grooming (all the furry and feathered babies) BTW I am talking to Ms Leonard about advertising here so I'm not trying to get free advertising. I am going to miss the store but the stress was just too much for my family. I've told all my regular customers that I've had a chance to see that I could find someone to love the store but no one could ever love my child like I do;-) My new job will never require the phrase "Please don't poke at the animals;-)) Neither will I have to explain that there are about 1500 rodents in the back and there is a little ammonia smell associated with that ;-p Thanks to all my good customers over the years (9 to be exact) and please stop by to see Holly. Rachel, the smell others referred to, i never noticed, i guess when you are an animal lover, you become used to the smell and do not smell it anymore. i will miss you up there so much, you have saved my pets so many times over the years, giving me advice i so needed, and my birds love you so much - you are the only one who can clip them with no problem. i do understand though about your son (precious thing that he is) but i want you to know that i will still be calling you for the grooming of my birds and little Gracie.
