    Not another one.

I'm pretty sure the passenger, Riley Boyette, is my first cousin's son. THANK GOD he wasn't seriously injured!

WRAL said this is the 3rd Princeton student killed in the past year.

Did you also see where WRAL said JC has the highest accident rates for 2007. JC had 11 deaths and Wake & Harnett only had 1 ea. Why is this I wonder? The JC sheriff said they're beefing up their patrols around schools.

I'm thinking curvy back roads, fast cars, and inexperienced drivers.

I agree - but don't other counties have those as well?

I dunno. Maybe we have more folks with money who can buy those fast cars? All I know is, my son is getting Fred Flintstone's old car.

I agree. I also think with the teens they are showing off for their friends/ girlfriends and too many parents do not realise their sweet little kid is not gonna drive the same way when he/she has their friends in the car as they do when their parents are with them. I have seen so many teens drive like they think they are in nascar or just plain stupid . Sorry but again I blame the parents. I would never put a 16 year old boy in a mustang. I also plan on when mine starts driving to track her and to spy on her. I will hide( even if I have to rent a different car) and see how she drives when moms not around. If she drives like a moron her car will be sold and she will be walking.

I must be. LOL I have seen a lot in this area drive like they are trying to wreck. I always think to myself, I wish his/her mom or dad would pull up behind that car and see their little baby. Another thing, have you seen them pull out and smoke their tires? I would think that be causing tire damage. Another note parents need to take if your child is going threw tires fast maybe it is time for you to sell his car.

:iagree: but like in the latest Princeton one - sounds like she was driving an Explorer (fairly safe vehicle) - but just wasn't paying attention and pulled out in front of someone.........just makes me so scared of what can happen when mine are out driving. But I do agree that some parents really aren't thinking wisely with some of the cars they buy their kids! Those HS students drive nicer cars than I do for sure - and no telling what their insurance costs!

Yes, the smoking tires. Nothing says "I'm the coolest" like leaving half of your tires behind on the street. How old is your DD? We shall have to team up - we can save on gas and look less conspicuous. I think we should go with gray wigs, and be little old ladies - although I will probably turn gray once my son starts driving!

Ya know what else comes to mind? Texting and chatting on cellphones. I personally feel they should be ILLEGAL for graduated license holders and I'm not too impressed when I see grown folks dialing/texting as some of those can't even talk and drive let alone speed dial.

Yep - I think that definitely adds to the problem.

In the past, officers typically issued warnings and contacted parents when a student was caught speeding or driving carelessly. Now, Gaddis said, officers are fully enforcing traffic laws and issuing more citations to show how serious the issue is.

Last week, Gaddis said, an officer stopped a student going 93 mph in a 55 mph zone OMG! See, how stupid is that!

Holy <beep>! That is almost 40 MPH overthe posted limit. That is considered reckless driving, is it not? It's certainly stupid.

I still have about 5 years to even think about the driving. The boy thing will probably make me go gray first. We have one that is calling her on the phone already. She is not boy crazy yet ( thank god) some of her friends are. Thats whats gonna turn me gray.

Kinda off the subject - but anyone watch the High School Confidential show that started last night on the WE channel (I think). It was pretty good. Focuses on 4 girls from freshman to senior yr and the changes they go thru, trouble they get in etc.....interesting.

I've got 3/4 years. You can get your practice in with me, then when you daughter starts driving you will be a professional.

I took text off of my dd's phone, talking on it is bad enough but texting is ****ing rediculous and dangerous.
