what happened to the clothing and shoe donation bins at 210/40 food lion shopping center or the ones @ 40/42 food lion shopping center?
If you have good used clothing and shoes to give away, you can take it to Basic Needs Ministry, out behind Bojangles on 42.
http://www.4042needs.org/ To Hugh's question, I believe you are correct. There was a private, for-profit company out of Florida that put those up. They tried to give the impression it was for charity. What they couldn't sell as clothing, they bundled and sold as rags.
I thought so, personally, if they were up front about it I would not have had a problem. The trickery I thought was unacceptable. Thanks Hugh
Yeah, that's what I thought as well. I saw something on 20/20 or one of those type shows a few years back and they were saying how owners were actually taking those items and making a profit from selling them.
I agree. Having spent many volunteer hours going through the stuff people donate, and throwing away half of it, I think tossing the stained and torn items into a bin like that at least keeps it out of the landfill.
