4042 Biggest Loser

    Okay, this was previously brought up in another thread but since response was so low, I decided a separate thread may work. Here goes. Some of us on this board would like to and need to(that's me) lose some weight. We'd like to start getting a group of us together like on the show the Biggest Loser. Somewhat like a support group and to get exercising. You tend to exercise more w/ others "pushing" you along than just by yourself. I do have some experience w/ this type of thing. My major in college was health and fitness specialist w/ concentration in cardio-pulmonary rehab. I know I could maybe at least help out a little to a group though not a professional by any means.

    There are so many options open to us all and so much we can do w/out a gym. I know cost is sometimes a factor for people so that's why I mentioned it. There are places we can alternate walking. Maybe as a group we can set a goal to walk/run in a 5K in the spring somewhere for charity. They do those all the time. I'd like to first meet as a group and decide how we want our Biggest Losers group to be. Try and meet to exercise. We can walk each others neighborhoods, things like that. If anyone may be interested in this, please write me at home at boydbunch@gmail.com. That way, I can send out to interested folks and we can go from there. I have a goal to lose 20 lbs and really need to surround myself w/ other motivated folks. Come on 4042er's!!--Let's show them all what we can accomplish.

    My health in general just sucks. I'm tired all the time no exercise, way 2 much beer, smoking cigs all day, no motivation.:banghead: I eat fairly healthy.

    Now since I'm all the way up here <vomit> I'd have to do this on line with ya'll. UNLESS we met up at the tobacco trail (walking) or my neighborhood (bring your matiching outfits) :lol:

    My goal was 10 lbs by the end of March. :?

    just try to quit 1 thing at a time. i recently quit smoking about a month ago and although i have my cravings, the minute i smell smoke i just gag!!!

    food now i love food just need to find a way to adjust my lifestyle.

    abdulina you have a great idea about getting together maybe thats what we all need (for those who are interested) group motivation and accountability

    I think it is a great idea!! I'd want to go to the biggest loser show, but I am NO WHERE close to the size of the people on the show. I still watch the show every week. I sit there watching the show just wishing I had the motivation these guys have. But I guess if I had Julian yapping in my ear, I'd get to moving too. I'd love to lose some weight(10-20lbs). People tell me if I lose 20 pounds, that I would look too skinny. I use to go to the gym but my friend who went with me stopped going and a few months later I stopped too. It was a bad idea!! It's just easier to stick to an exercise routine when you have someone with you.

    I would love to join this group. Also, I bought the books from The Biggest Loser, and it sets out all of the workouts and trainings. I also have a cookbook from the show. I would be willing to help get this going if you need any help.

    I was wondering what was going to happen, I did email you Stephanie at the start when we were talking about it on the thread I started. Well, let me know what you guys want to do, I have no where to walk around here. I also work 6 days a week, time is not on my side here.
    just let me know, you have my email address..
    I would love to loose 50 pounds!!!

    wish I could wear your clothes.....


    I have lost 50 since sept. and need to loose more. I have been counting those stupid calories. My pants are too big. must get smaller.....smaller

    i need my butt to be the same size as my shoe.

    I too would love to join but I am needing to lose way more than 20. More like 50+ But if you all to mind my puffin my way along I would love to have an exercise buddy or buddies.

    All are welcomed and come join the fun! I'm giving this till about Friday, though you can email me anytime after that. Later this week I'll write everyone and we'll figure out the logistics of it all. Then we'll meet up somewhere...Dairy Queen perhaps... just kidding! We definitely will need some humor through all this b/c it is not an easy thing to do. I have been tryign to lose weight but need more motivation and support. So I think we are all a great group that can do this. Also, I've gotten all women responses. Are all you men in shape??? You are more than welcomed to join in. I'm sure we all have different reasons for wanting to join but out of all the folks who've written me about doing this, I can honestly say we all have the same exact goal...to lose weight.

    Be ready... 4042 Biggest Loser Club is here and we are going to make it to our goal weights!!! Got to run. Just trying to bump up the thread for others who may want to join. I think we are up to about 8 or so people right now. I know there are more on this board that may need to lose a pound or two so don't be shy. Have a great week and talk to you all very soon to kick this thing off the ground and off this office chair--LOL.

    Wow! skinny little thing can run.....i wish I could, more like a fast walk here...lol.
    ( I actually have no Idea what she looks like I'm just playin)
    I don't want to go walking with a bunch of hotties and look like the token basketball with feet......
    Weebles wobble but they don't fall down! <------ me.

    TOO FUNNY!!! Wish I could run like I used to. I think we need to start out w/ walking first and get into a routine for a few weeks. I'm no Jillian--LOL. I did used to teach some of the football team aerobics at ECU years ago. It was hilarious but they were required. I was in sports med and all that stuff. I know I'll never get back to that weight again but I definitely am shooting for getting healthy and in shape again.

    If you fall down peppercorns we'll pick you back up and keep walking. Umm, I can tell you now for sure though, I'm definitely no hottie so have no fear there.

    Can't wait to meet you all in person as this sounds like it's going to be a fun group of folks and we are really into losing weight. I thik we can at least push each other if nothing else. Enjoy your week. Kids are out of school early today.

    I am doing the Biggest Loser at the school I work at. There are about 22 of us. I also am going to the gym. It has been a huge help having a support system!

    Are we still doing this? Haven't heard anything in a while, and just wanted to make sure what was happening.
