New China Star Just happened to have lunch there today...had shrimp&broccoli with an egg roll & fried rice. Food was hot fresh and tasty...veggies were fresh, shrimp was good and plenty of food. Wife had chicken & chinese vegs..she was not as impressed...hope that helps....we'd go back....price for all, including drinks was $11....
Had lunch with a friend there this week and I will definitely go back. We both had General Tso's chicken and it was great. I ate till I was full and still took home what I couldn't eat then. The price was great for lunch...$5 and some change and that included the tea. I thought the tea was okay. Plan to eat lunch with my DD there tomorrow. She loves sesame chicken and I'm anxious to try theirs. I, too love China King but it's nice to have 2 good Chinese Resturants to choose from. Will never go back to the one by Food Lion at 42. Ate there one time and that was enough!
I tried this tonight and it wasn't very good. Bland food. I got General Tso's and we asked for a recommendation on a beef dish. They said the hot and spicy shredded beef. It was pretty much the General Tso's cut up. I couldn't tell it was beef. I probably won't return, and will just get my Chinese fixes at PF Changs.
kinda weird I went in the new place at 42 and 50 for lunch a week ago and had a weird experience. I went in to have the Happy Family lunch special or so I thought. We got a menu in our mailbox at the house and on the back it has all these lunch specials in text with pictures of the dishes surrounding the text. Well, it turns out that about half of the pictures of dishes around the lunch specials are not even lunch specials (Which I figured out after coming home). So when I asked the lady for a Happy Family special she said it was not on the lunch menu, and I pointed to the picture of it around the lunch special and she said no. Then she says to me "Do you know how much lobster costs?" I was like ahhhh, no!!! I guess she thought I was trying to rip her off. Well, I left - and I think the way they have their lunch special menu set up is a bit deceptive. It suckered me, ha. Oh, and as I was leaving she was yelling to someone in the back in Chinese. Too bad I took Spanish in school.
DH and I shared a Moo Shu chicken, it was awful we didn't even finish it. The chicken didn't even look like chicken. It tasted rubbery and salty.
I thought the same thing, even mentioned it to the husband. I thought it was just me. thanks for confirming.
Ya know... when my mom bought her current house about 8 years ago, she had 2 cats. They were outdoor/indoor cats at the previous home, and for a few weeks my mom would go outside with them while they got familiar with the new yard and surroundings. The maine coon cat decided he really preferred the life of an indoor cat and was let back in one day, his momma stayed outside and was never seen again... but .. there is a chinese food restaurant just a few hundred feet up the main rd... we've never eaten there.. but it is kind of a family joke about what may have happened to MommaKitty.
I have never had a problem there. I do always wonder if they are talking about the customers though. One day I am gonna get someone who speaks chinese to go there with me and tell me what they are talking about. LOL
I wasn't complaining . I do wonder what they talk about. LOL But I have never had any problem with that restaurant. They always get my order right and if their chicken is cat its some pretty good kitty let me tell ya. LOL
