    My PSA for today...

PAY YOUR FREAKING INSURANCE. And if you have kids, DO NOT let them drive around with no freaking insurance.

Was in a wreck at 40-42 yeasterday, me, my fiancee, and my son. Kid that hit us was 17 and he gave the trooper 2 difference forms of insurance. One was cancelled a year ago, the other is HIS MOM'S insurance. She did not have him insured and neither was the car he was driving. Good thing I have un-insured motorist coverage. Too bad he gave the officer false information. His mom was letting her 17 year old and 13 year old ride around in a car that had no insurance at all.

To answer the other question. Yes, he was hispanic. And yes he gave me dirty looks the entire time b/c apparently I should have seen him cutting thru traffic and stopped for him.

I hope you are all OK! Good luck with all that. A teenager totaled my sister's car a few months ago, although he did end up being insured, it was a NIGHTMARE because he wouldn't even call his insurance company back to admit he caused the wreck! Stupid people!

Aww, so sorry for you all - glad you're ok! Did the mother KNOW that they were riding around in her car? If so - thats just ridiculous! They should give her some sort of fine or ticket or something!!!

40/42 sucks for traffic! I know this isn't news to anyone, but it is terrible! We had someone BACK INTO US in the middle of 42 a couple months ago! Who decides to back up at rush hour because they can't make the green light???

I hope he was on his way there, and never got to experience the tasty goodness of Bojangles chicken and fries. Serves him right.

traffic was CRAZY up there friday afternoon! I went to pu my grandson and there was a wreck right there at McDonalds. Finally got thru it....but it was backed up forever. Glad you and your family are ok and always always always get uninsured motorist coverage! Not meaning to sound stereotyping but for some reason, hispanics do not see the importance of car insurance and normally do not carrier it.

He was making a left hand turn out of the bp gas station and waited until the traffic was stopped at the light and cut thru traffic and apparently just gunned it out of the gas station. We were in the turn lane turning left into taco bell and he never even slowed down. He turned straight into our lane b/c apparently he couldn't be bothered to wait for traffic to clear.

His mother KNEW that he was driving a car that was not insured. She had insurance on her, he was not on the policy and neither was the car he was driving. The car was registered to her.

What is up with that, these children driving around acting like lunatics! There was a teen yesterday that was driving behind us on Robertson right past the Rite Aid, right on our butts. THEN, he passed us, the car in front of us and the truck in front of them. I noticed then, besides the fact that he passed in a residential area and no passing zone, that there was a smaller kid in the passenger seat, probably no older than 10. He proceeded to swerve off the road into the Lee's Produce on the corner so that he would not have to stop at the light, fly across into TR Lee's and swerve back on the road! I would have called him in but I could not see the license plate because the tailgate was down. Do they REALLY think they are invincible??

About a week ago I was at 210 Food Lion. One of the baggers was talking with another worker about totaling his car ...apparently that day. The part I found disturbing was he was laughing about going 70 on Raleigh Rd. The accident did not seem to leave an impression about his driving habits.

I talked to the state trooper while ago, he was NOT amused that the kid lied about having insurance. I get to go see the car today. Tomorrow they're hauling it to the salvage yard. The adjuster hasn't even seen it yet, but my insurance is pretty sure it's totalled. They said the adjuster would just go to the salvage yard.

This WOULD happen about a week after I had decided that I was going to keep that car until it was paid off then save for a year or and just buy a new one. Guess there is no keeping it till it's paid off now. Which also means that I don't really have the $$ to buy a new one now. Oh well, isn't that life???

And the thing that irks me is that, its not JUST their lives they're putting at risk! Its the rest of us that KNOW how to drive that gets hit by these idiots!!! Really makes me worry about me and of course, my teens out there!!

That must be the place for accidents there. I was rear-ended by an off-duty cop there 3 years ago and still have neck problems to this day!!!
