Scripture: Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Thought: We are living in a time at which our society is trying it's best to remove all reminders of God. We've removed Him from our schools and today murder and rape are the number one problems in our schools. We've removed his commandments from our courts and government buildings and we've passed laws that has made it legal to murder millions of unborn babies. We've removed Him from our families and divorce rates are at an all-time high. So the question needs to be asked, "why?" Why is society so bent on removing God from our way of life? The bible teaches us "there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end therein is death." People today believe that their way is the right way and if they close their eyes tight enough God won't exist; out of sight out of mind. And if there is no God we have no one to give an account to. The fruit of this idea has just shown itself ones again. Yesterday, a former Illinois University student opened fire on other students; killing 5 and shooting 21 others. Did you know that the murder suicide rate in the U.S. is up 400%? Why? Could it be that our churches have stopped preaching the idea that we will all be judged? That we don't get away with things? That we will all have to give an account? Food for thought.

Ok, I'm going to have to call you on this one. What statistics do you use that show that "murder and rape are the number one problems in our schools"? When God was in our schools, what was the number one problem?

Curiously enough, the court that made abortion a law of the land has the Ten Commandments etched in the doors.

And yet I hear of pastors who have cheated on their spouses.

Pastor, far be it from me to question the desire to post the Ten Commandments in the courtroom, or to allow for prayer in schools, but bringing up unrelated events and claiming that the result is connected just doesn't seem right, and may be more counter productive.

The Constitution spells out very clearly that the government can make no law either to establish a religion or to prevent the free exercise thereof. For years the battle has been fought with one side trying to say that this law or that law is somehow establishing religion and the other side saying it's not. The tactic has to change. The fight has to be over the second half of the Constitutional phrase, that government cannot make a law preventing the free exercise of religion. Only then will the fight be over logic and not emotion, and therefore undefeatable.

Make a law that says that Justice Moore cannot display the Ten Commandments? Nope. That's preventing Justice Morre from freely exercising his religion. The law would, Constitutionally, have to be struck down.

I would LOVE to see a reply post that does not tear other posts about God all to pieces. Even if pastorG's statement is not 100% correct, it sure is close and this stuff DOES happen. Why not actually look at it from his view for a moment.....just a moment. There is alot of truth to what he says as well. Quit being so quick to judge. And they say Christians on here are judgmental.......sheesh.........

No, it's not, which was the purpose of my post.

Are you suggesting that I reply willy-nilly without knowing what I'm replying to? I read, ask questions if I don't understand, and comment when I see something wrong.

Once again, no it's not, which was the purpose of my post.

You seem to have jumped to the conclusion that I am not a Christian. I very much am. But, even being a Christian, I am not going to accept what a pastor says just because it's a pastor that says it, nor will I accept a falacy just because it's something that I really would like to believe.

So you are suggesting that pastorG knows nothing of what he writes and just decided to put this post here because he wanted to be picked apart because he just loves that so much.......please. I find it HARD to believe that none of what he says makes sense or has any truth. You need to do MORE research.

Did you read my post? Can you show me where I'm wrong? Can you explain how it can be claimed that religion is taken out of government when the court that made abortion a law has the Ten Commandments etched into their doors?

I'm sure pastorg is a good person who doesn't intend to lead people astray. But what he posted is knee jerk reactions. I asked, and I am awaiting his response, on where he gets his statistics to back up his claims.

But, to answer your question, it is possible that pastorg just passed along a chain email he received without verifying it's contents. It's certainly not unheard of, it happens here by others on a weekly basis. It seems to me that I have had those very words pass through my inbox on more than one occasion.

I certainly wouldn't suggest that pastorg is infallible, would you?

Lady (or sir), I'm all about research. But it's not incumbant upon me to research someone else's claims. That's their job.

Why thanks Ken between you and Clif you have blamed just about everything that is wrong in the world on that nasty "Liberal'.

I am proud to be a Liberal but based on my positions on Gun Control and Iraq/Afghanistan it looks like you are trying to tell me I ain't one.

    Hey Ken,

Well I guess I will have to disprove your theory. I simple made this post to share my thoughts with people who might appreciate them. As far as supporting my claims I am seeking out the sources of my information and I will shortly post that as well. As far as posting "inflammatory accusations" I am simply making observation on the state of our world around us (if you can't see it getting worse you may want to check your eyes)

As far as advertising for my church, why not? Everyone else advertises their stuff and most of it is junk. Why wouldn't I want to advertise something that is changing lives?

Quite possibly you ain't. Not all democrats are liberals, not all republicans are conservatives. There liberal/conservative are philosiophies, Democrat/Republican are political parties. There can be (and are) conservative Democrats, just as there can be (and are) liberal Republicans.

One hopes that you are taking your time in responding to my post.

    Hey Clif,

As I stated to Ken, I'm researching my sources so I'm not just giving my opinions but also the support for them as well.

Please feel free to post opinions, just don't post them under the guise of facts.

Wonder if Jesus is that wild about seeing the 10 commandments posted everywhere, since part of them were used to justify nailing him to a cross???

Also wonder if when he comes back he's going to be a little upset about people wearing crosses around their necks? Come bring back bad memories.

So do ALOT of others, and no I am not going to post them. You like research, read the forums and see for yourself. It's so easy to slam church issues, isn't it?

At least Pastor G has stated he will back up his claims, unlikely that he will be able to but at least he will try. You don't even attempt to back up your statements.

Why should we waste our time on someone with diarrhea of the fingertips?

And you will still SLAM him. Nothing he will post or back up will EVER be good enough here. And that's the bottom line.
